REGULAR BOARD MEETING
JULY 21, 1993
TOWN HALL
7:30 P.M.
Letter received from John P. Falkides, Ovmer of the Boston Hills
Estates Mobile Home Park regarding the Annual inspection of Boston
Hills Homes & Estates, on file in the Town Clerk's office.
Supervisor Kennedy commented that he and Code Enforcement Officer
Kramer met with Mr. Bell and a reinspection of the Park was done.
At that time the five (5) items originally cited in the original
letter to Mr. Falkides. Three of those items were taken care of
already. Mr. Bell advised us that the women whose stairway was
defective had some financial difficulties and that it would be
completed at a later date. We said that we had no problem with
that. However, vie still expected Mr. Falkicles to adhere to his
promise of March of this year, when he said that he was going to
close the north roadway. This was made very clear to Mr. Bell, I
didn't think it was necessary to write to Mr. Falkides and tell him
that these were the two (2) items that he did not correct of the
five (5) items that were originally proposed to him. Mr, Falkides
has made at least three (3) statements two (2) at Town Board
Meetings that he has no problem closing that road and yet it is
still not closed. At a meeting held in the Planning Board Room you
told us that, that is no problem we will provide you with a new
mapping of the new court and we will provide you with a closure of
the road, that's no problem. We have given you from March 1993
until today and there has been no action on the closure of that
road which was not part of the original Site Plan.
Katherlne Falkides: Does our license in anyway correspond with the
need to block off the road?
Supervisor Kennedy: It is the exit from the existing park and it
was suppose to be tied into the exit from the new park so that
there are not two (2) driveways within one hundred (100') feet of
each other. To make it safer for people exiting out onto the
highway through one exit rather than having two (2) exits so close
together. Yes. It is part of the same park.
Katherlne Falkides: Your saying that this is tied to the license.
Supervisor Kennedy: Yes, it is tied to the license.
Katherlne Falkides: As far as the road is concerned we requested
permission to leave the road open. We wrote a letter to the Town
Board as you know because we feel it is a frivolous thing to close
that road off. It presents and inconvenience and safety hazard for
some of the people in the old park. You denied it, and we finally
said that we would close off the road. I believe that was in
March. Since that time Mr. Decker (Contractor) has been looking
for the appropriate guard rails and we met with underground utility
people. At this point, if you are ordering us to close our road we
will do so. Although, we are not in agreement with this.
Councilman Flowers: We did in the past ask you to close the road
as a provision to do something else in the new park also.
John Falkides: Give me a letter ordering me to close that road and
I'll do it.
Supervisor Kennedy: The Planning Board reviewed the Plot Plan as
it was given to them and it required the closure of that road with
the access road to the highway as only being one (1).
Councilman Wittmeyer: In March we had a letter from the County
outlining what procedure we had to take if we wanted to keep it
open and there were things that had to be done. I asked you at
that meeting what you wanted to do and you said, I'll close the
road. At that point in tirae I felt the road would be closed.
John Falkides: Order me to close the road and I'll close the road.
