REGULAR BOARD HEETING<br />

MAY 19, 1993<br />

A motion was made by Councilman Wittmeyer and seconded by<br />

Councilman Wohlhueter to authorize Highway Superintendent Ruciialski<br />

to install Handicapped signs at entrance to East Lane and West Lane<br />

per request of Daniel and Gloria Gorcica.<br />

SUPERVISOR'S REPORT<br />

Carried<br />

Received a letter from Congressman Jack Quinn acknowledging a<br />

letter he received from the Army Corp of Engineers concerning<br />

erosion problems along eighteen mile creek at the Hillcroft Bridge.<br />

This letter stated that an erosion control study has been in effect<br />

since November 13, 1992 and is near completion. A draft detailed<br />

report describing recommendations for a solution to the erosion<br />

problems is scheduled to be complete in July 1993. Assuming the<br />

study produces a positive recommendation for and erosion control<br />

project and the Town of Boston, County of Erie and the State of New<br />

York are willing to cost share in it's implementation.<br />

Supervisor Kennedy stated that the Federal Government through the<br />

Army Corp of Engineers is willing to accept 75% of the cost of the<br />

project and the remaining 25% would have to be shared by the County<br />

of Erie and the Town of Boston.<br />

Supervisor Kennedy has drafted a letter to County Legislature Fred<br />

Marshall and to the County Highway Department asking for their<br />

commitment of the 12.5%.<br />

The optimistic schedule for completion of this project is the<br />

summer of 1994.<br />

Letter received from Larry Bartz, Rural Planner for Southtowns<br />

Board acknowledging the excellent cooperation of the Town of Bosto.".<br />

Highway staff in maintaining the Rural Transit Van and equipment.<br />

TOWN CLERK'S REPORT<br />

A motion was made by Councilman Wohlhueter and seconded by<br />

Supervisor Kennedy to authorize Deputy Town Clerk O'Neill and Town<br />

Clerk Shenk to attend D.E.C. Licensing Seminar in Hamburg, N.Y. on<br />

May 27th and in Salamanca, N.Y. on May 28, 1993 respectively.<br />

A raotion was made by Councilman Wittmeyer and seconded by<br />

Councilman Zimmerman to authorize Supervisor Kennedy to pay<br />

C.V.M. Electric $844.31 for initial work being done by the<br />

electrical contractor on the addition to the Emergency Squad.<br />

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT<br />

Carried<br />

Superintendent Ruchalski talked with the County maintenance<br />

engineer in Hamburg, before the "End of 40 mph Zone" sign on Back<br />

Creek <strong>Road</strong> can be taken down, they have to receive a directive from<br />

the Buffalo office authorizing them to do so.<br />

TOWN ATTORNEY'S REPORT<br />

Reported at the request of the Traffic Safety Coramittee that the<br />

jurisdiction of the town with regards to placing "Stop" and "Yield"<br />

signs, that the town does have a certain amount of jurisdiction<br />

provided that the intersections involved are only J<br />
