TOWN OF BOSTON<br />

RESOLUTION 1993 - 18<br />

At a Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of<br />

Boston, Erie County, New York, held at the Boston Town Hall,<br />

8500 Boston State <strong>Road</strong>, Boston, New York, on the 19th day of May<br />

1993 at 7:30 P.M. Eastern Daylight Savings Time there were<br />

present:<br />

Supervisor Kennedy presented the following Resolution and<br />

moved its adoption:<br />

WHEREAS, the City of New York operates a facility for<br />

homeless people in the Town of Chester, New York, and<br />

WHEREAS, the Town of Chester has and is experiencing<br />

difficulties with individuals who reside at that facility<br />

causing public safety and health concerns, and<br />

WHEREAS, the Town of Chester has ascertained to its<br />

satisfaction that a certain number of the residents at the<br />

facility are the subject of outstanding criminal warrants, and<br />

WHEREAS, no screening of criminal records for outstanding<br />

warrants, etc is performed by the City of New York prior to<br />

pl?cing the residents at this facility, and<br />

WHEREAS, the Town of Chester has requested the help of<br />

other municipalities in the state to help insure passage of<br />

legislation designed to require criminal record checks prior to<br />

admission to this non-secure residential facility (S-2150 and A-<br />

2526),<br />

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Boston<br />

supports the Town of Chester in its desire to have the above<br />

bills enacted into law, and<br />

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be<br />

sent to the Town Supervisor of the Town of Chester, Senator Dale<br />

Volker and Assemblyman Francis Produm.<br />

Seconded by Councilman Wohlhueter and duly put to a vote<br />

which resulted as follows:<br />
