March 2005 to July 2007 Undergraduate research assistant (RA) in the Lab for the Study<br />

<strong>of</strong> Social Anxiety, Character Strengths, and Related Phenomena<br />

(Director: Dr. Todd Kashdan)<br />

• Independently administered a research study on age differences in<br />

gratitude. Tasks involved conceptualizing, designing, and<br />

administering the study under faculty supervision. Participants<br />

included college students, and older adults from the community.<br />

• Compilation <strong>of</strong> a questionnaire for the gratitude and age study under<br />

close supervision <strong>of</strong> Dr. Todd Kashdan.<br />

• Helped in the organization and administration <strong>of</strong> several lab studies.<br />

Tasks included coordinating with other lab members, running and<br />

scheduling experiment sessions.<br />

• Conducted participant training sessions for lab studies (e.g. 21 day<br />

Daily life Study )<br />

• Coded autobiographical narratives and created a coding<br />

manual for future coders.<br />

Peer Advocate: Tasks included carrying the 24 hour emergency pager<br />

in the absence <strong>of</strong> the Director <strong>of</strong> Sexual Assault Services. Also<br />

trained for providing crisis intervention, and accompaniment to<br />

survivors <strong>of</strong> sexual assault.<br />

Peer Educator: Tasks included giving informational presentations on<br />

sexual assault in residence halls, organizational meetings, and in<br />

academic classrooms, and responding to sexual assault disclosures by<br />

audience members. Tasks also included distributing informational<br />

pamphlets across campus via kiosks.<br />
