Your Bareiss Holiday includes per Person:

Experience your stay here as you wish: in modern
Black Forest style or in cottage style. In the garden
wing, on the penthouse floor or in the Black Forest
cottage. In a single room, a double room, a family
appartment. Or in one of our suites.
BAREISS POOL AND SAUNA ENVIRONMENT
The bathing area consists of nine different pools: the
freshwater pool (29°C), the massage whirlpool (36°C),
the children’s paddling pool (32°C), the indoor seawater
pool (32°C), the outdoor seawater pool (32°C)
and, from April to October, the outdoor freshwater pool
(25°C) and our natural pond at the heart of the unique
garden lounger area with its water lily pond and rock
waterfall. Our comprehensive range of saunas is also
available for you: the Finnish sauna (85°C and 95°C),
steam sauna, bio-sauna (55°C), whirlpool, Kneipp water
therapy pools, plunge pools, ice fountain, spa showers,
quiet room, open-air area and two outdoor whirlpools at
32°C and 36°C.
SPORTING BAREISS
You want to keep fit? Then you’ve come to the right
place: water gymnastics on Mondays to Saturdays. Our
sport and gymnastic range from Mondays to Fridays.
Nordic walking with expert trainers. Or in our fitness
room using cardio equipment with TV and media connections.
Our city, mountain and e-bikes can be borrowed
free-of-charge.
HOLIDAY AND ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMME
We offer guided hikes, tours of the building, fashion and
jewellery shows, readings, classical concerts and daily
live music throughout the year. And the range offered by
the House of Games is also available to you. We charge
a fee to cover costs for the following holiday offers: wine
tastings, excursions in our old-timer, golf training, horsedrawn
sleigh rides, ski teacher, tennis training.
OUR UNIQUE FOREST PARK
Enjoy the fresh air of the Black Forest in our newly
designed Forest Park, which is one of the most beautiful
in central Europe and offers the following facilities:
lounger area, trout pond, educational forest trail, pavilion,
barefoot path, Kneipp waterway, rock waterfall, old
mill with waterwheel, duck house, summer and winter
curling alleys, sport and gymnastics meadow.

Children in the age groups Mini (3 – 6), Maxi (7 – 11)
and Teenies (from 12) are supervised throughout the
year in the Villas Kunterbunt and Sternenstaub, with a

pirate adventure water playground, the Lakota Ranch.

The Culinary Day
THE EXCLUSIVE HALF-BOARD
It is said that one does not measure life by the number
of pleasures but by their intensity. This plays no role at
all for the Bareiss. Both the number and intensity of the
pleasures are taken to extremes here. So enjoy it, our
Culinary Day – from early in the morning until late at
night.
THE POOL BREAKFAST FOR EARLY RISERS
Enjoy the first cup of coffee or a freshly pressed orange
juice from 7.00 a.m. Read a newspaper in peace, eat a
delicious fruit quark after a couple of refreshing lengths
of the pool – a long, beautiful day at the Bareiss could
not get off to a better start!
THE BREAKFAST AND BRUNCH BUFFET
The breakfast and brunch buffet at the Bareiss is legendary.
The unique Bareiss breakfast, consisting of a bread
and roll buffet and sweet delicacies. The large choice of
ham and sausage and roast specialities, as well as the
sumptuous buffet with all its uncountable sweet and
savoury, warm and cold treasures, with coffee and tea
specialities from all over the world. And every day the
children look forward to the children’s buffet, from which
they can easily help themselves.
THE BAREISS CAKE BUFFET
The real Black Forest Gateau is, of course, also available
at the cake buffet. But that’s not all – there is a
large selection, like everywhere else at the Bareiss:
delicate fruit tarts, the speciality cakes freshly baked
daily, and the delicious Bareiss Cake leave nothing to
be desired. Everything is from our own patisserie and
most cakes are still made using the original recipes of
the hotel’s founder, Hermine Bareiss.
THE EVENING MEAL – FOR EPICURES
The evening meal is served in one of our five hotel
guest restaurants (Hubertusstube, Biedermeierzimmer,
Hermine-Bareiss-Stube, Schwarzwaldstube and Winter
Garden). A large salad buffet is followed by the evening
menu recommendation by our Kitchen Director Oliver
Ruthardt, whose individual courses can be exchanged
with our other dishes and the Bareiss Classics. We offer
a 5-course fitness menu with a maximum of 1,000 calories
for the weight-conscious epicure – as long as one
does not weaken to the temptations of the cheese buffet
(available every evening) or the warm/cold dessert buffet
on Tuesday evenings. The large Bareiss Gourmet Menu
is available every Saturday evening, with seven courses
and – a tradition that goes all the way back to Hermine
Bareiss – with a rose for every lady in the restaurant.
THE MIDNIGHT SNACK
The owls amongst our guests traditionally meet at the
bar. So this is where we serve our midnight snacks:
potatoes with herb quark and salmon, goulash soup,
Swabian ravioli.

Bareiss Sporting
Backbone exercises, stretching, strengthening of the
thigh, stomach and back muscles as well as exercises
for problem zones are all part of the programme, as
are Aqua Jogging, different programmes for relaxation
and Nordic Walking. Furthermore, our holiday-team is
delighted to organize or give you information about jogging,
paragliding, climbing-courses, surfing etc. within
the surroundings.
Fitness-Studio
Our fully air-conditioned fitness room, equipped with
state-of-the-art devices, offers numerous training opportunities
for both strength and fitness: cardio equipment
with TV and media connections, a weight bench and a
kinesis system, certified for rehabilitation and medical
exercises.
Water Gymnastics
Everything is easy in the water: our water gymnastics
takes place under expert guidance in the saltwater
pool from 8.00 a.m. on Mondays to Saturdays.
Tennis Courts
Our own outdoor tennis court with floodlights offers an
artificial surface with quartz sand that is easy on the
joints. We would be glad to arrange training courses
or tennis partners. We can book indoor courts with
carpeted surfaces at the Baiersbronn Tennis Centre a
few minutes away from the hotel by car.
Boccia and
Summercurling
Our popular boules and curling take place here daily.
Walking
As part of the “Baiersbronner Wanderhimmel”, the
forest community of Baiersbronn – which covers 190
km², and stretches from Schönmünzach in the Murg
Valley (460 above sea level) upwards to the Black Forest
Pass (1,100 above sea level) – offers hikers 550
km of the most beautiful trails. The individual districts
are actively involved in the concept with themed paths
that provide hikers with detailed information on the
region’s history, nature and geology. Whereby the concept
exploits off-road trails along the forest floor and
beautiful views of the Black Forest.

Nordic Walking
AActive walking with sticks is an extremely effective
alternative to classic walking. Nordic walking combines
the movement of the legs with the diagonal movement
of the arms. Our expert trainers show you the right
technique because one can only exploit to the full the
positive effect of this proven endurance sport if one uses
correct technique.
Borrowing city,
mountain and e-bikes
Our fleet of city, mountain and e-bikes is available
to you free-of-charge. Cycle the beautiful Black Forest
area around the Bareiss with its hills and valleys,
either with one of our group leaders or on your own.
The Reception has suggestions for bike tours ready.
We would be glad to provide you with cycling equipment
for adults and children. Children’s bikes are
available with or without training wheels and with
children’s seats.
Observing wildlife and
accompanying the hunt
The Bareiss Hunt is located adjacent to the hotel
on the opposite side of the Murg in the heart of the
northern Black Forest red deer area. You can reach
the raised hides, at altitudes of between 600 and 900
meters, via well prepared and easily accessible paths.

Angling and Fly Fishing
The Murg, with abundant fish, and the hotel‘s own fishing
ground on the Ellbach are not the only locations
that offer. Our Reception staff will be delighted to
provide you with more details and let you know about
the equipment you can borrow from us. Please ask for
our angling guidelines.
Cross-Country Skiing
and Winter Fun
Apart from the 11 cross-country ski runs in the Baiersbronn
district up to the Schwarzwaldhochstraße, the
wonderful Besenfeld plateau is a further attraction. Our
hotel shuttle bus will take you to the best starting points,
accompanied by a skiing instructor if you wish. More
winter fun highlights are curling on the hotel’s own rink,
horse-drawn sleigh rides and long walks in the snow.

The Pool Bistro
and the “Oase”
In our bistro at the indoor pool. We serve you a first
small breakfast, and light dishes and refreshments
from midday. Sit at the garden pond adventure facilityin
fine summer weather.
The hotel guest restaurants
A selection of old French winelists, historic winegrowing
implements and the history of the corkscrew
form the backdrop for the over 20,000 bottles in our
show cellar. Our wine waiters will be pleased by your
interest during cellar visits accompanied by wine tastings
and will gladly advise you regarding your home
wine cellar requirements.
The Wine Cellar
A selection of old French winelists, historic winegrowing

entertainment in the evening. For our reception cocktail
on Sunday: to welcome you. And for honouring our
long-time regulars.
The Terrace
Our open-air living room: from breakfast to the evening
menu. With tea or coffee, or an aperitif in between.
And there’s a little live music too.

The Bar
The bar offers an opportunity to visit it at any time and
on any occasion. Michael Proettel and his bar team
serve international spirits here to the accompaniment
of live music. Expect fine pleasures at the bar – from
malt whisky, elegant rum, to first-class regional
schnapps. We would be pleased to advise you on our
selection of aperitifs or digestifs – and prepare your
cocktail the way you prefer it.
Morlokhof hike and
Morlokhof evenings
The Morlokhof is located on a beautiful south-facing
slope on the edge of Mitteltal. It was built in 1789 by
Johann Georg Morlok who, like his ancestors and successors,
made his living farming and, simultaneously, as
a faith healer – they ‘found’ lost objects, cattle that had
wandered off, and cured illnesses through the laying on
of hands or with self-prepared tinctures and mixtures.
Hermann Bareiss bought the Morlokhof in 2003 and
made a sensational find during its restoration: over
130 hand-written records in manuscripts written in
four old-German scripts. Since the early 18 th century at
least four different Morloks had gathered their existing
knowledge and written it down.
Guests from the Bareiss walk to the Morlokhof every
Tuesday with Hermann or Hannes Bareiss, learn something
of the farm’s history and enjoy the nostalgic Coffee
Table together (included in the price). The Morlokhof
comes to life every Thursday evening. Guests are
driven to the farm, where they meet the “old Morlok”
who relates the history of the buildings and the family
during a tour of the farm and the subsequent evening
meal, eaten together in the lounge. We serve appropriate
old regional dishes, whose recipes have been carefully
adapted for modern times. The Morlokhof Menu is
accompanied by corresponding wines. (Our Reservation
team has all the details and prices).
The Morlokhof is a unique location for wonderful occasions
such as weddings, birthdays, jubilees, etc. We
would be pleased to advise you on your very personal
celebration at our Morlokhof – so that it becomes an
unforgettable party.
Hiking Hut Sattelei
The Sattelei Cabin, which opened in 2005 and was
modified and expanded in 2011, shows that hiking and
gourmet pleasures can indeed be combined. The Cabin
team receive you daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on
Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. with a hearty snack
menu. The Sattelei is located between Tonbachtal and
Mitteltal at a height of 706 m, about three-quarters of
an hour from the Bareiss by foot.

The Restaurant Bareiss
Our gourmet restaurant is rated among the ten best
addresses in Europe. With daily fresh products of the
season, our Executive Chef Claus-Peter Lumpp creates
grand French cuisine. And from our 1000-item strong
wine list, our Sommelier Jürgen Fendt, who represented
Germany in the Sommelier World Cup 2010,
will recommend you the best vintages to accompany
your chosen dishes while our Restaurant Manager Thomas
Brandt and his team attend you both capably and
amiably in the festive surroundings of the Restaurant
Bareiss and, in summer, on the restaurant terrace.
Please remember to book your table well in advance
and bear in mind that the Restaurant is closed on
Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as from 26 February
to 29 March, and from 29 July to 23 August 2012.
The Kaminstube
Our Kaminstube’s bill-of-fare provides a selection of
popular dishes from top-class European cuisine in
harmony with the best vintages produced by leading
winemakers from Baden, Württemberg and international
wine. In summer you can also enjoy what we
have to offer on the terrace. The Kaminstube is open
every evening as well as during the afternoons at
weekends and bank holidays. On weekdays, we are
pleased to serve the Kaminstuben classics for lunch in
our Hubertus Stube.

In the Uhrenstüble and in the Förster-Jacob-Stüble,
two authentic old Black Forest ploughman’s bars
from the 19th century, Ingrid Jedlitschka and her
team serve hearty hot and cold Black Forest specialities.
Traditional fare of bread from a wood-fired
oven, home-made sausage and ham for a snack, duck
roasted in the oven, fresh Black Forest trout and many
other delicious things for lunch or in the evening.
Accompanied by a local draught Pils from the barrel,
regional wines and a good Kirsch. The Dorfstuben are
open for you throughout the day: For drinks before lunch
as much as for a convivial get-together in the evening.
We would be grateful for an early table reservation, if possible
even before your arrival – particularly for the Restaurant Bareiss.

Villa Kunterbunt,
Adventure Playground and
Bareiss-Lakota Ranch
The Villa Kunterbund, right next to the hotel, awaits
the 3 to 6 year olds, Two floors accommodate fun
for our youngest guests, such as games, modelling
or plain messing about. Open daily from 9.00 a.m. to
6.00 p.m. and, during school holidays, from 9.00 a.m.
to 11.00 p.m. The Villa Sternenstaub attracts with its
fairy tale room and 7-Star Restaurant, in which one
can cook and bake and where our cooks serve healthy,
child-oriented meals. Fun cookery courses for the children,
during which they will learn a lot about food and
beverages, take place in the new kitchen. The rabbit
petting zoo, tree house and bright circus wagon are
located between the two children’s houses. The hotel’s
park contains a totally new adventure playground for
our small guests with a sunken pirate ship in which
real swashbuckling games take place. There is also
an appealing play area, with water attractions and the
possibility of building sand castles in small paddling
pools. The Bareiss Lakota Ranch offers a tepee for
playing Indians and storytelling, as well as a fireplace
for campfires.
Children’s Menu
Our kitchen chefs cook daily in the afternoon and
evening especially for our young guests. In the Villa
Sternenstaub, the menu offers a healthy and varied
cuisine every afternoon and evening.
During school holidays, our kitchen chefs prepare
the most popular and delicious dishes for lunch. Your
children are invited to this as part of the Children and
Youths Programme.
Parents are welcome to eat with their children in the
hotel restaurants from 6.00 p.m. Alternatively, during
the summer months, the children grill together on
the campfire next to our tepee and the ‘Saloon’ in our
Bareiss Lakota Ranch.
Completely new at the Bareiss: We have set up a small
fruit and vegetable garden, from which products can
be freshly harvested when ready, in front of the Villa
Sternenstaub. Together with the children, our cooks
then prepare the vegetables and serve them in the
7-Star Restaurant at the Villa Sternenstaub.
House of Games
Chat and chill, Play and have fun – nobody gets bored
here! Pool, darts and table tennis are played here,
there is table football and table hockey as well as Wii
games, not to mention the car racing track and the
large-format screen with DVD and super sound. And

to ensure that the youths do not lose contact with
their friends during the school holidays, they can keep
in touch virtually at the Internet Café. The House of
Games is open until 11.00 p.m. during school holidays.

You may obtain a baby phone and arrange for a baby
sitter at the Reception.

We shall gladly look after your baby following prior
arrangement – both in the evening and during the day.

We offer a comprehensive programme from 9.00 a.m.
to 11.00 p.m. during school holidays: hotel rallies,
paper-chase, mini-Olympics, colouring T-shirts, making
things. Half-day and day excursions, e.g. to the summer
tobogganing course, the Adventure Golf Park, castle
and zoo visits, baking waffles, juggling, playback shows,
ice-skating, dancing, bowling, torchlight walks, riding,
football tournaments, introductory tennis course, spending
the night in the forest, wood discovery tour with our
forester and cookery courses with our chefs.

Mini, Maxis and Teenies
at the Bareiss
MINIS
With the Minis, aged from 3 to 6, we explore the
barefoot park, build with Lego, watch the wild animals
being fed, go to the adventure playground, and find out
about the flora and fauna in our meadow.

MAXIS
For our Maxis, aged between 7 and 11, our programme
offers the children’s etiquette course, forest discovery
tours, visits to a horse ranch, twister and games on
our tennis court.
TEENIES
For our Teenies, from 12 onwards, there are excursions
to the Europa Park, go-carting, pool and darts
tournaments, DVD evenings, visits to the Panorama
Adventure Pool, visits to the cinema, golf taster courses,
the natural pool in Mitteltal with beach volleyball,
days in the House of Games for youths, and pony riding.
The attractive days for youths with all conceivable
facilities are very popular.

Golf Club Freudenstadt
Our delightful home course is located at a height of
700m–inthemiddle of the Black Forest with small
brooks, biotopes and challenges of all kinds to ensure
exciting golf. The Golf Club in Freudenstadt was opened
back in 1929 and is celebrating its 90th anniversary in
2009 making it one of Germany’s oldest courses and
has been awarded the “Golf & Nature” certificate.
Driving ranges covered. Entitled to play are golf
club members with a registered handicap (HCP 54).

Facts Worth Knowing
All rooms, apartments and suites have: flat-screen TV
with international and national channels (and Sky),
radio, private safe, mini-bar, telephone with direct
dialling (also in bathroom), free Internet access,
hairdryer, bathrobe, bag and slippers. Please take
into account that your rooms are first available as
from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival. We ask for your
understanding that we are not in a position to confirm
certain room numbers or storeys and even certain categories
given a stay of less than 4 days. Please make
sure your room is available by 11.00 am on the day of
departure.
We have special rooms for those with allergies. We
would be pleased to provide personal advice.
The Bareiss Category Price*
All year round, our exclusive Half-board/Culinary Day
is included right from the first night. If you stay up
to and including three nights we will charge you the
Bareiss category price but are, unfortunately, unable
to quote you a particular room type and room price
for this length of stay. We will instead, however, book
you one of the categories listed on the final page. If,
however, you stay 4 nights or more, you profit from the
price advantage of the particular seasonal price from
the first night onwards.
The prices are calculated per person and include our
exclusive half-board/Culinary Day and contain the VAT
applicable for the individual services as well as the
service charge plus visitor’s tax.
Price Calculation
Differences in price arise due to the different location,
size and furnishings of the individual rooms. All other
services are the same. In the à la carte Restaurants
and the hotel boutiques payments by credit card
(Amex, Diners, Eurocard, Visa) are accepted. Credit
cards are not accepted for paying hotel bills. This price
list replaces all previous ones. Prices will be adjusted
accordingly in case of increases in VAT. Should there
be a drastic rise in power costs, we reserve the right to
charge an energy supplement. Alterations to the room
prices on account of building measures are possible.

Cancellation
Up to three weeks before your planned arrival (except
Xmas), you have of course the right to withdraw from
your reservation without incurring any charge. In the
event of short-term cancellation or if you shorten your
room reservation period, we are entitled to charge you
80 % of the room price. In order to avoid this situation,
which can potentially be unpleasant for both sides, we
recommend you take out travel cancellation insurance,
which we shall be delighted to arrange for you.

17 May 2012. The two musical phases are dedicated
to Sergiu Celibidache and the Sound of Nature. Experience

at the Christuskirche in Mitteltal on Whit Monday,
