Teddy Bear Picnic! 

Art and Pottery, Ages 3-5 & 

Parent/Guardian 

In this program designed for 3-5 year 

olds and an adult, we will make a variety 

of toys, games and fun projects 

exploring pottery, drawing, painting, 

murals and collage. Children will practice 

their scissor cutting, paper folding and 

other fine motor skills. Adults will enjoy a 

look back at some of the simple 

pleasures of childhood! Come prepared 

for fun games, skipping songs and some 

one on one time with your child. We will 

hold a Teddy Bear Picnic on the final 

day! Only the child is registered but must 

be accompanied by one adult. Instructor 

is arts educator Debi Cairns.

Fairytale Adventures

This program is a great chance for your 

child to use their imagination, move

crafts. Instructor Darcy Welch has 

training in theatre, dance and music as 

well as experience designing and

The Dance of the Fairies 

Dance & Art Program 

Ages 4-7 & 8-12 

A grand ceremony is held in honor of 

the birth of Princess Aurora, the 

sleeping beauty. As fairies happily 

dance and grant gifts of honesty, grace, 

prosperity, song and generosity to the 

sleeping baby, it is the Lilac fairy who 

must cast a spell to break a curse that 

has been bestowed on Princess Aurora. 

Participants will learn elements of ballet, 

theatrical dance skills and stage acting. 

The second component involves 

developing artistic skills to create 

beautiful costumes, props and 

backdrops. A short dance performance 

takes place on the final day. No 

experience necessary. Dance instructor 

Michele Hopkins is a certified dance 

teacher who received training from the 

National Ballet School in Toronto, 

American Ballet Theatre in NYC and 

currently trains professionally with DtDe.

sit and think and then begin to write... 

The objects are helpful stepping stones 

to writing. It is hard to know where to 

begin. So many people say “I have 

always thought I'd like to write my 

story...” But they rarely start. Or they 

abandon the effort. This class will help 

to get the writing done. There will be 

group readings for those who want 

them. Most student writers discover a 

world opens when they share stories. A 

comment is made, a light comes on. 

The room sparkles with the muse. 

This program is for all writers, from 

beginners to writers of books. You only 

need a notebook and a sharp pencil (or 

two or three). There will be discussion of 

format, from the essay to prose memoir 

to poetry. Publishing will also be 

discussed.

QUILTING 

Instructor Suzi Hollihan started sewing 

at the age of 5 and has been ever since 

- creating and designing clothing, quilts, 

textile art and really anything that a 

thread and needle can go through! 

Although much of these skills have been 

self-taught, she has studied at Sheridan 

and Conestoga Colleges, along with 

many courses and workshops from 

Kelowna B.C. to New Orleans. She has 

been teaching these skills with 

enthusiasm for over 25 years to people 

of all ages! 

Intro to Machine Quilting 

Would you love to create a beautiful 

heirloom quilt? You can! All you need is 

basic sewing skills—or we will teach you 

that too! Learn the techniques needed 

to complete a basic pieced quilt such as 

fabric and supply selection, cutting, 

piecing, machine quilting and binding.

interactive theatrical experience where the dream of living a fairy tale
