CERTIFICATION :<br />

The marks obtained by the student will be reflected in the Detail marks card issued by the<br />

Board. On-the-job training will be counted as a subject and it will be compulsory to pass this<br />

subject to pass the examination as a whole.<br />

4. Soil as a media of plant growth including effects of soil conditions.<br />

5. Propagation-types and methods of propagation, propagation structures, tools and equipment,<br />

media and containers.<br />

6. Propagation through seed and factors affecting viability of seeds.<br />

7. Principles of seed production.<br />

Syllabus Internal Assessment: 15<br />

Semester-II Total Marks: 45<br />

8. Nursery raising, preparation of bed, seed sowing, protection, hardeing, lifting and packing of<br />

9. Asexual propagation and its importance, propagation by cutting, layering, grafting, budding<br />

and their types.<br />

10. Propagation of plants by specialized structures- bulbs, corms, tubers, rhizomes, runners,<br />

slips stolans, suckers and their types.<br />

11. Handling of nursery plants, display, marketing and economics of nursery business.<br />

12. Selection of site, land development including fencing and windbreaks and planting.<br />

13. Nutrition of horticultural crops.<br />

14. Irrigation in horticultural crops.<br />
