vertical, horizontal & inclined lines & geometrical figures such as-triangle, rectangles and circles,<br />
polygon, construction of ellipse, parabola and involute of a circle.<br />
4. Conventional representation of different material in sections e.g. shaft, hollow pipe, rectangular,<br />
square, angle, channel, I-section etc.<br />
PART B<br />
WORKSHOP PRACTICE<br />
5. Description of hand tools used in outomobile shop. Precautions observed in a workshop.<br />

1. Drawing sheets of 1st angle and 3rd angle projections of solids.<br />
2. Introduction to rivets and its types. Concepts of auto CAD (Computer Added Design).<br />

WORKSHOP PRACTICE<br />
3. Description of measuring tools and instruments like outside calliper, inside calliper, vernier<br />
calliper, outside micrometer, inside micrometer, Dial gauge, marking block and gauge. Try<br />
square, Bevel protector, bench centre, depth gauge, compression gauge, pressure gauge.<br />
4. Surface plate, sue of open end spanner, ring spanner, box spanner, sockets, torque, wrenches,<br />
adjustable spanner, Alien Key wrench.<br />
5. Introduction to paints.<br />
ENGINEERING DRAWING<br />

SEMESTER-I<br />
1. Use of the hand tools, measuring tools and measuring instrument used in workshop.<br />
2. To practice efficient use of files by producing plane surfaces, straight edges of right angle, fillets<br />
and round corners.<br />
3. To leam efficient and accurate use of Hacksaw cutting.<br />
Time: 3 hrs Semester-II M. Marks : 50<br />
1. To make a V notch on a flat surface using chipping method.<br />
2. To learn marking a job using a surface plate, V-block and marking gauge.<br />
3. Fitting a square hole in a M.S. flat.<br />
4. Extraction of a broken stud.<br />
5. Use of hand tools and equipment used in painting and denting.<br />
6. Visit to a nearby mechanical workshop.
