properties- Make a write up.<br />

2) To distinguish between the metal steel, cast Iron and high speed steel by spark pattern test on a<br />

grinder.<br />

3) To Anneal a chisel.<br />

Time: 3 hrs Semester-II M. Marks : 50<br />

1) Case carborising by hardening powder.<br />

2) Hardening of carborised job by waterquenching and oil quenching.<br />

3) Tempering of hardened job.<br />

4) To make a funnel and weld/solder its joint.<br />

5) Practice on cutting of pipes and make joint of two pipes by socket.<br />

At least two visits to selected industry to give the practical, exposure to students.<br />

SEMESTER-I<br />

1. INTRODUCTION OF DRAWING INSTRUMENTS & THEIR USE :<br />

Basic concept of Drawing & Engineering Drawing, Lists of instruments used in Engineering<br />

Drawing. Brief knowledge about the instruments. Practice to use all the instruments, Materials<br />

used in Drawing. Size of sheet and layout of sheet. Standard sizes of drawing sheets, margine<br />

title block etc.<br />

2 GEOMETRICAL CONSTRUCTIONS<br />

Introduction, definition of points, lines, angles, Review of geometrical constructions such as<br />

dimensions of straight line and angle. Triangle, quadrilateral, Polygen, circles, to draw parallel<br />

lines. To draw perpendiculars, different patterns, tangents- External and internal (minimum 40<br />

cons).<br />

Time: 3 hrs SEMESTER-II M. Marks: 95<br />

1. LINES AND LETTERING AND DIMENSIONS CONVENTIONS :<br />

Lines, materials, solids, Breaks, Conventional representation used in engineering Standard<br />

practice for writing single stroke and double stroke in 7:4/6:5. (Note - At methal stage graph<br />

paper may be used after some practice student should bear to draw graph.)
