Forward Looking Infrared Operator Training
Basic training, FLIR

Total 5 days, including theory + 2 flight hours by day + 1 flight hour by night per
operator
Helicopter and ground power unit must be available during theory. A pilot holding
a valid rating for the relevant helicopter type/variant and having current night flight
experience, should be provided by the customer for flight training.
Basic training of a crew on the FLIR system. The training course will be terminated
by a written examination in theoretical and practical knowledge.
Course duration is for 1 – 2 operators for any additional operator to be trained,
course duration will be increased.

Theory: 1 day
Flight training: 3 flight hours per pilot
Pilots to be trained must hold or have held a type rating on the relevant helicopter.
On completion of this course, the applicant is theoretically and practically
standardized / refreshed for normal and emergency instrument flight procedures.
• Refreshment of IFR procedures in regard of the FLM supplement for instrument
flight
• Various departure and arrival procedures under difficult weather conditions
including missed approach procedures and continued flight to an alternate airport
• Emergency procedures
