INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
ON
GST ARCHITECTURE IN FEDERAL SYSTEM
(With special reference to proposed introduction of GST in India)
Organised by Indirect Taxes Committee & Hosted by NIRC of ICAI
Theme Government of India has announced intention to introduce GST from 2010. Designing model of GST is the first step in
this direction. Various suggestions have been made in this regard considering the federal structure of governance in India.
Group constituted by the Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers to study this aspect and suggest a model for
the country have submitted their report and also dealt with other issues that need to be addressed. ICAI too had issued
concept paper on the subject This Conference aims to bring together experts from countries which have implemented
GST in federal system to share their experiences and discuss related matters with eminent faculties in Indian context to
generate thoughts and ideas for implementation of GST in India by 2010.
