Salzburg will celebrate a virtual Football Festival together

in Austria and Switzerland on the city‘s most beautiful
squares - Mozart, Residence and Chapter Square - in

the Mozart Statue (open daily from 2:00 – 11:00 p.m.,
free admission). A huge fan zone with three over 40 m²
video walls, a family park, food court and a diversified

What opportunities will the UEFA

Alexander Zickler: I don’t think the
opportunities will merely be available
during the European Championship but
even more so after the mega-event. The
2006 World Championship in Germany
is an impressive example of the lasting
euphoria an event of this magnitude can
have. The UEFA EURO 2008 TM will be a
unique opportunity for Austria to
demonstrate its abilities as a perfect
host.
Why did you decide to live and work in
the SalzburgerLand?
Alexander Zickler: For one, I was al ready
familiar with the SalzburgerLand and
always loved being here. Besides,
after my third serious injury my doctor
also happened to live in Salzburg.
Red Bull Salzburg was just getting off
the ground at the same time. I’m quite
happy here and really feel comfortable.
My two boys are in kindergarten, my
daughter is in high school and all three
have adjusted very well.
Who do you think will win the European
Championship in 2008?
Alexander Zickler: Personally, my favo-
rite final match would be Switzerland vs.
Austria! Of course I hope the Austrian
team gets as far as possible. To make it to
the quarter or semifinals would be a
sensational result!

A number of public viewing areas
will be set up throughout the SalzburgerLand
for all of the matches. Football fans will be

Public transport
The fan zone is located in the center of
Salzburg’s Old City and is easily accessed
by bus. Bus service is available
from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Game ticket-holders and/or rail ticket
holders will be able to ride the bus
in Salzburg free on match days. This
also applies to Salzburg Card holders
(for 24, 28 or 72 hours). A direct shuttle
service will operate between the
stadium and parking lots to the Host
City/center on game days. The shuttle
service is also included in the game
ticket price.
