2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion Danielle Kang U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship Trophy The Cox Trophy was presented in 1896 by Robert Cox of Gorgie, Edinburgh, Scotland, a member of Britain’s Parliament. It is a 2-foot-high silver vase of Etruscan design and the only USGA trophy donated by a person from another country. The Cox Trophy is the oldest survivor among trophies for USGA championships. The original is kept in the USGA Museum and Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History while a copy is handed yearly to the champion.
