The total number of flight hours
logged between August 2009
and June 2010 by the three HAP (1)
Tigers operated in Afghanistan
by the French Army’s 5th Combat
Helicopter Regiment. The Tigers
are used to protect French troops
on the ground, and also help
ensure the success of ISAF (2)
missions. The helicopters
are flown in extremely harsh
environments but still have
provided an availability rate
of more than 90%. A limited
Eurocopter team of three
technicians helps the mechanics
of the French Army Air Corps
maintain this impressive rate
for the three machines.
