Zivic Donates Painting to GCC
Ironwood native Bill Zivic donated one
of his original paintings to GCC. His
wife, Carol, attended GCC and the college
and the Ironwood area still hold a
special place in both of their hearts.
Currently residing in Arizona, the Zivics
have fond memories of their time spent
in Ironwood.
Before indulging in his passion
for art full-time, Bill served in the U.S.
Military in Korea and Germany. He worked
for a time in the Geneva Mine, then
moved with his family to Arizona. He was
inspired by Arizona’s vast beauty and history,
and began capturing the West in
bronze sculpture and on canvas. After
working for the Tucson Police Department
as an officer and a sketch artist, he and
Carol opened an art studio in Tucson and
it was there that Bill had the opportunity
to focus on his artwork. His subject matters
include the landscape of the
American West, its history and lore.
