REQUEST: Authorization to enter into an annual agreement with Software House International, Inc.<br />

(SHI), in the amount of $89,956.42 per year, by utilizing State of Florida contract #252-001-09-1 as<br />

a basis for pricing for large account reseller of Microsoft software, licenses and maintenance.<br />

EXPLANATION: Wellington’s Information Technology Department utilizes the State of Florida<br />

Microsoft License Agreement to contract with Software House International, Inc. (SHI), the awarded<br />

vendor. The initial contract expires on March 31, 2012 and the State is renewing for one (1)<br />

additional year effective through March 31, 2013. SHI has agreed to lock in Wellington pricing at<br />

$89,956.42 per year for the next three (3) years. In order to ensure Wellington continues to receive<br />

the best pricing, staff will re-evaluate pricing once the State contract expires in 2013.<br />

The contract is required for the acquisition of software licenses and support for multiple Microsoft<br />

products including but not limited to Windows and server operating systems, Office, Exchange,<br />

Sharepoint, and others. These licenses are necessary for continuous business operations.<br />

There are no Western Communities or Palm Beach County vendors who are large account resellers<br />

that are able to provide this product or service.<br />

LEGAL SUFFICIENCY: Yes<br />

FISCAL IMPACT: Funding is allocated in the Technology Services EDP Software budget in the<br />

amount of $100,000 for fiscal year 2012.<br />

RECOMMENDATION: Authorization to enter into an annual agreement with Software House<br />

International, Inc. (SHI), in the amount of $89,956.42 per year, by utilizing State of Florida contract<br />

#252-001-09-1 as a basis for pricing for large account reseller of Microsoft software, licenses and<br />

maintenance.
