1.1.9 FIELD ORDER – A written order issued by the CITY’S Representative or<br />

CITY which orders minor changes in the Work but which does not involve a<br />

change in the Contract Price or the Contract Time.<br />

1.1.10 NOTICE TO PROCEED – A written notice given by the CITY to<br />

CONTRACTOR fixing the date on which the Contract Time will commence to run<br />

and on which CONTRACTOR shall start to perform CONTRACTOR’S obligations<br />

under the Bid Documents.<br />

1.1.11 PROJECT – Is the total construction for which the Contractor is<br />

responsible under this Agreement, including all labor, materials, equipment and<br />

transportation used or incorporated in such construction or for the completion of<br />

the project and delivery.<br />

1.1.12 SPECIFICATIONS - Those portions of the Bid Documents consisting of<br />

written descriptions of materials, equipment, construction systems, standards<br />

and workmanship as applied to the Work and certain administrative details<br />

applicable thereto.<br />

1.1.13 SUBCONTRACTOR – An individual, firm or corporation having a direct<br />

contract with CONTRACTOR or with any other Subcontractor for the<br />

performance of a part of the Work.<br />

1.1.14 SUPPLIER – A manufacturer, fabricator, supplier, distributor, materialman<br />

or vendor.<br />

1.1.15 WORK – Work is a result of performing services, specifically, including but<br />

not limited to construction, furnishing labor, soil borings, equipment and materials<br />

incorporated used or incorporated in the construction of the entire project as<br />

required by the Bid Documents.<br />

1.1.16 WORK CHANGE DIRECTIVE – A written directive to CONTRACTOR<br />

issued on or after the effective date of the Agreement and signed by CITY and<br />

recommended by ARCHITECT OR CITY ordering an addition, deletion or<br />

revision in the WORK. A Work Change Directive shall not change the Contract<br />

price or time, but is evidence that the parties expect that the change directed or<br />

documented by a Work Change Directive will be incorporated in a subsequently<br />

issued Change Order following negotiations by the parties as to its effect, if any,<br />

on the Contract Price or Time.<br />

1.1.17 WRITTEN AMENDMENT – A written amendment of the Bid Documents,<br />

signed by CITY or CONTRACTOR on or after the Effective Date of the<br />

Agreement and normally dealing with the non-architectural, or non-technical<br />

aspects rather that strictly Work related aspects of the Bid Documents.<br />
