LAND USE ELEMENT<br />

(1) The potential participants in the ISBA include Palm Beach County, The Village of<br />

Royal Palm Beach, and the City of Greenacres.<br />

(2) The ISBA may review the provision of one or more services within and adjacent<br />

to Wellington: potable water, sanitary sewer, fire-rescue and police/public safety.<br />

(3) The ISBA may consider one or more areas for future annexation, subject to the<br />

requirements of the agreement and the annexation policies within the<br />

Comprehensive Plan.<br />

Policy 1.8.2 If unable to develop a multi-jurisdictional SR 7 Corridor Plan within<br />

one year of the effective date of this plan, Wellington shall consider preparation of a SR<br />

7 Corridor Master Plan limited to Wellington municipal boundaries.<br />

SCHOOL SITING<br />

Objective 1.9 Wellington shall support and facilitate coordination of planning with<br />

the District for the location and development of public elementary and secondary<br />

education facilities in accordance with the PBC School District’s adopted Educational<br />

Plan Survey and Capital Improvement Plan and, to the degree possible, further the<br />

Goals, Objectives and Policies of Wellington’s Comprehensive Plan. Wellington has<br />

adopted Land Development Regulations to allow public school facilities in areas<br />

consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Wellington has also coordinated with the<br />

School District on the location of public school facilities and other public facilities.<br />

Policy 1.9.1 The proposed public school facility shall be compatible with adjacent<br />

existing land uses.<br />

Policy 1.9.2 Public educational facilities of the School District shall be an<br />

allowable use within the following future land use categories:<br />

(1) Residential<br />

(2) Institutional<br />

(3) Commercial<br />

Policy 1.9.3 The location and construction of new public educational facilities or<br />

the expansion of an existing site, shall be allowed upon a determination by the local<br />

government that the proposed school development is consistent with the future land use<br />

categories as listed above.<br />

Policy 1.9.4 In accordance with the adopted Capital Improvement Plan(s) of the<br />

School District and the Capital Improvement, Intergovernmental Coordination,<br />

Education and Public School Facilities and other related elements of the adopted<br />

Wellington<br />
