REQUEST: Second Reading requesting Council approval to adopt amendments to the<br />

Comprehensive Plan to incorporate text changes to address the repeal of Chapter 9J-5 of the<br />

Florida Administrative Code, ensuring consistency in wording of "Village" throughout the plan and<br />

ensuring consistency between Wellington's Comprehensive Plan and zoning districts as described<br />

herein.<br />

EXPLANATION: This is the request to amend the Comprehensive Plan to incorporate text changes<br />

which eliminate Chapter 9J-5 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) references. Rule 9J-5, FAC,<br />

was repealed by the Florida Legislature through the adoption of Chapter 2011-139, Laws of Florida.<br />

In order to be consistent throughout the document, Staff has removed all “Village” references<br />

throughout the Plan and replaced with “Wellington”, except where referred to as “the Village of<br />

Wellington”.<br />

Additional changes include:<br />

� Deletion of Medical Commercial Land Use building coverage<br />

� Ensuring consistency with Ordinance 2010-21, Residential Renaissance Overlay Zoning<br />

District
