VIII. PUBLIC NOTIFICATION / COMMENTS<br />

As required by the Land Development Regulations and Florida Statutes, public<br />

notifications were placed in the Palm Beach Post, mailings were set to property owners<br />

within 500 feet and the property was posted. All notices advised to the public that a public<br />

hearing on the proposed ordinance/resolution would take place. The dates of notices are<br />

set forth below.<br />

As of February 23, 2012, Staff has received inquiries from the public in reference to<br />

providing a traffic signal at Palomino Drive and State Road 7.<br />

IX. PLANNING, ZONING AND ADJUSTMENT BOARD<br />

The Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board (PZAB) recommended approval (6-0) of the<br />

Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Development Order Amendment petitions with staff<br />

recommended conditions at the March 7, 2012 meeting.<br />

X. <strong>COUNCIL</strong><br />

The first reading of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment is scheduled to be heard at the<br />

April 10, 2012 Council meeting.<br />

XI. STAFF RECOMMENDATION<br />

Based on consistency with Wellington’s Comprehensive Plan, staff recommends approval<br />

of the Ordinance No. 2012-10 (Comprehensive Plan Amendment 2011-45 CPA 4) a Small<br />

Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change the approved uses to allow a<br />

proposed 1,200 student private school for grades K–8 totaling 75,000 square feet and a<br />

15,000 square feet day care center for the 8.35 acre parcel known as Wellington Charter<br />

School (FKA Wellington Design Center), located on the east side of State Road 7/U.S.<br />

441, approximately one mile south of Forest Hill Boulevard, as legal described in Exhibit<br />

“B,” subject to the conditions of approval listed below:<br />

1. The project shall be limited to a use or uses not to exceed a maximum equivalent daily<br />

trip generation of 100,000 square feet of retail. (TRAFFIC)<br />
