BANDS OF MANLY SELECTIVE CAMPUS
This is always a busy term for BOMSC with a
number of events providing opportunities for band
members to experience the challenge of
performing to an audience at a special event or in
a professional venue. The larger the audience the
greater the sense of achievement for the
musicians. Please bring family and friends and be
prepared to be impressed by the diverse styles and
the high standard of musical repertoire performed
by the MSC bands. Remember all these events are
open to the whole school community and beyond,
so even if your child does not play in band
performing this year do come along to get an idea
of the musical challenges ahead of them as they
progress through the BOMSC program.
MSC Jazz Club Night 2010
The MSC Jazz Club Night 2010 will be held on
Friday, 27 August at the MSC Hall. Featuring our
very own MSC x‐jazz, s‐jazz, i‐jazz and impro shop
groups, the Jazz Improvisation Stream along with
special guest performers promises two‐and‐a‐half
hours of pure jazz entertainment! ALL WELCOME!
Tickets are $2pp at the door. Please bring a plate
to share. Seats are limited so please reserve your
seat or why not book a table for your group?

Dinner Dance
The Salsa Themed Dinner Dance 2010 will be held
Saturday, 4 September, at Harbord Diggers
(themed dress optional). Tickets are $80 per head
and include a 3 course meal, a complimentary
drink on arrival and a night of entertainment
featuring our Stage Bands. To reserve your ticket
or book a table of 8 – 10, contact Jill Deere on
jdeere@bigpond.net.au. Don't forget you can
organise a table ‐ or just book a single ticket (and
we'll seat you with your friends or your year
group).
‘Musicàle 2010’
‘Musicàle 2010’, this year’s premier concert is on
Friday September 17 at 7.30pm at the prestigious
musical venue The Independent 269 Miller Street
North Sydney.
This concert features the Symphonic Wind
Orchestra, with guest performances by the Jazz
Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Vocal
Ensemble and will be followed by Jazz in the Foyer,
with light refreshments available at normal
Theatre Foyer prices.
Tickets are on sale for Adults: $15 Under 18s: $10
Bookings are now open and must be made online

Semester 2 fees now due
Please note that Semester 2 fees are now overdue.
Would you please make payment either by EFT or
by credit card, cheque or cash to the Band Box as
soon as possible. However, we will be happy to
help anyone who needs a little longer to pay.

Second hand Blazers: We now have 4 blazers to
sell. This is relatively unusual so it’s a great time to
buy your blazer now. The 4 are all different sizes:
small, medium, large and extra large. Call 9981
