Shield State
Knockout
came to an
abrupt end
during the
week when they met an outstanding team from
The Hills Sports High School. It has to be said this
team must be red hot favourites to win the
competition in September.
The Northern Beaches Secondary College team is
made up of students from four of the five
campuses at the college. These young men were
extremely tough, committed and spirited until the
end. The team is primarily made up of under 16
year olds who are currently playing in the
Peninsula Cup competition. This is a champion side
and when they start to play teams their own age
we will see some great Rugby players of the future.
We say goodbye to our handful of senior players
who have served the college well and wish them
all the success they deserve. Josh Craker (Manly
Selective Campus), Suala Suruviebau, Oliver Brodie
(Cromer Campus), Rowdy Taylor (Balgowlah Boys
Campus).
Blackmores Sydney Running Festival
Volunteers are required for Blackmores Sydney
Running Festival on 19 th September.
Support the Heart Foundation at this year’s
Blackmores Sydney Running Festival.
Part of being a supporter charity for the event, the
Heart Foundation must provide 15 volunteers for
the day. This year we have secured the Hyde Park
Foundation Drink Station where we will be serving
refreshments to the runners of the marathon and
half marathon.
Would you or any of your family and friends be
interested in helping out the Heart Foundation on
the day? You will get the opportunity to get a close
view of all the runners as they pass.
What our volunteers will receive on the day:
Free public transport on the day of the race to
get you to and from your assigned area.
 Blackmores t‐shirt to keep
 Complimentary lunch
 Sponsors gift pack
 Volunteers Certificate
Time: Approx. 6am‐12pm
Location: Hyde Park Foundation Drink Station
Could you please ask all your family and friends if
they would be interested in helping us out and if
so they can contact me via phone on (02) 9219
2487 or email me at
kate.podryhula@heartfoundation.org.au
