permeated from landfill site of solid waste, pool and spa,
aquarium, preservation of environmental water and so
on, they have not yet been defined as a main and
indispensable technology for treatment of water and
wastewater even in above mentioned fields. We must try
to inform the advantages and features of ozone and
stimulate understanding to ozone based on the fortune of
information and knowledge accumulated until now in
JOA. We are also requested to collect and develop new
information and scientific knowledge.
JOA holds an annual conference and seminar on ozone
science and technology including a training course every
year. It is also important to establish the opportunities
and systems to collaborate among private company
engineers and researchers, government officers and
university professors in study, development and
application of ozone-associated technologies. Activities
of proposing and training safety standard for ozone
application and of authorization of ozone generators
with high safety level are indispensable from the concept
that excellent technologies should be adopted with high
safety and efficiency. Seminars on ozone for citizens
should also be planned.
JOA has been trying to spread new international
information and knowledge by collaborating with IOA
through several activities, for example distributing IOA
Ozone News and the IOA Journal of Ozone: Science &
Engineering and attending IOA Conferences. We are
planning to hold the 19th IOA World Congress in Japan
in 2009. We would like to ask IOA members for their
kind guidance, support and help for JOA.
EPRI/Global Ozone Handbook: Agriculture and
Food Industries
The 2004 EPRI/Global Ozone Handbook: Agriculture
and Food Industries is produced by Global Energy
Partners, LLC (Global) and offered through the
International Ozone Association (IOA). This report
summarizes research efforts pertaining to ozone's use
in the agriculture and food industries. It includes
experimental results from over 100 research groups
and organizations and describes over two dozen
specific end uses of ozone in these industries.
