• JM Long Foundation Pharmacy Scholarship<br />
This scholarship benefits pharmacy students, preferably<br />
in <strong>the</strong>ir 2nd or 3rd year <strong>of</strong> study, who are planning<br />
to practice pharmacy in a retail community setting.<br />
Combination <strong>of</strong> financial need and academic merit.<br />
• College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy Inaugural Class <strong>of</strong> 2011<br />
Scholarship<br />
Must be enrolled in <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy in <strong>the</strong><br />
2nd, 3rd, or 4th year <strong>of</strong> study and achieve a minimum<br />
3.0 GPA. Must demonstrate leadership and community<br />
service that promotes <strong>the</strong> UH Hilo College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy.<br />
• Grace Mizuko Miyawaki Scholarship<br />
Must be enrolled full-time in <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy<br />
and demonstrate financial need. Preference shall be<br />
given to a graduate <strong>of</strong> a high school in <strong>the</strong> state <strong>of</strong><br />
Hawai‘i.<br />
• National Association <strong>of</strong> Chain Drug Stores (NACDS)<br />
Foundation Pharmacy Partners Scholarship<br />
The annual scholarship benefits pharmacy students<br />
who demonstrate an interest in a career in community<br />
pharmacy.<br />
• Safeway Scholarship<br />
Must be enrolled in <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Pharmacy, meet a<br />
minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate an intereset in<br />
working in a retail pharmacy setting.<br />
• Walgreens Diversity Scholarship<br />
Benefits a pharmacy student with a minimum GPA<br />
<strong>of</strong> 2.0 who has made efforts to raise awareness or to<br />
educate o<strong>the</strong>rs regarding diversity in <strong>the</strong> practice <strong>of</strong><br />
pharmacy.<br />
• Walmart Scholarship<br />
Supports a pharmacy student with a minimum 3.0 GPA,<br />
who demonstrates leadership ability and financial need,<br />
and has a strong desire to enter community pharmacy<br />
practice.<br />

College <strong>of</strong> Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resouce<br />
Management Scholarship:<br />
Contact <strong>the</strong> Dean’s <strong>Office</strong> at 974-7393 for more information<br />
and application forms for <strong>the</strong> following scholarship.<br />
• Beatrice Campbell Beckley/Hoowaiwai Farms<br />
Scholarship<br />
Scholarship(s) awarded annually to College <strong>of</strong><br />
Agriculture students who are graduates <strong>of</strong> Big Island<br />
high schools.<br />
• Dr. Frederick K. T. Tom Memorial Scholarship<br />
$500 scholarship awarded annually to a graduating<br />
Hawai‘i Island High School senior or entering junior or<br />
entering senior in <strong>the</strong> College <strong>of</strong> Agriculture. Minimum<br />
2.5 cumulative GPA required. Renewable, but must<br />
reapply <strong>the</strong> following year.<br />
The following four music scholarships are incorporated<br />
into a single application which may be obtained by<br />
contacting <strong>the</strong> Performing Arts Department or <strong>the</strong> UH<br />
Hilo Financial Aid <strong>Office</strong>:<br />
• Gloriana Adap Memorial Scholarship for Singers<br />
$100 to $200 scholarships awarded annually to<br />
students enrolled or planning to enroll in music studies.<br />
Recipients must maintain a 2.5 in music courses, 2.0<br />
overall, and participate in all UH Hilo choral ensemble.<br />
Interview and audition required.<br />
• Richard Adap Memorial Scholarship for Singers<br />
$250 to $500 scholarships awarded annually to<br />
students enrolled or planning to enroll in music studies.<br />
Recipients must maintain a GPA <strong>of</strong> 2.5 in music<br />
courses, 2.0 overall, and participate in all UH Hilo<br />
choral ensembles. Interview and audition required.<br />
• Paul Gouglides Memorial Grant for Pianists<br />
An award <strong>of</strong> an amount to be determined by <strong>the</strong><br />
Music Scholarship Committee given to a serious<br />
piano student. Recipient must be a full-time student,<br />
maintain a GPA <strong>of</strong> 3.0 in music courses and 2.5 overall,<br />
participate in a UH Hilo music ensemble. Interview and<br />
audition required.
