Rudolf Steiner College offers personal loans to students to assist with tuition costs. Information is available from the Finance office or the Admissions office. The Office of Finance and Business Services is responsible for managing the overall accounting, treasury, financial reporting, and business service operations of the College. This includes managing internal controls to mitigate risk; creating and presenting financial reports to internal and external parties; ensuring that the official accounting records of the College are up-to-date and accurate; safeguarding the assets of the College to minimize risk of financial loss; and developing and maintaining robust accounting and information systems to provide high-quality financial information that supports the Colleges strategic management initiatives. The reception office or “front office” provides a variety of services. In the reception office one can: • Obtain basic first-aid materials. (Clearly marked, large first aid kits can also be found attached to the east outside wall of Barton House and to the wall outside the laundry facility in Monet Hall.) • Fax materials within the United States at $1.00 per page • Drop off outgoing mail with postage already on it (mail is picked up Monday through Friday, usually by 11:00am) • Make tuition payments and pay auditing fees • Use the “Housing Book” to locate a room, an apartment or home to share or rent • Use the “Teaching Jobs Book” to research Waldorf teaching positions available worldwide. Teaching jobs are also posted in Barton house. The reception office provides certain forms and informational materials, including: • Flyers and brochures for the College’s programs and events • “Concerns, Suggestions, and Requests” forms • Student health insurance information and forms • College course class make-up forms • Transcript request forms • Course extension forms • Independent study forms The reception office receives, and holds for retrieval, wallets, purses, cell phones, jewelry, and other valuables that have been lost and found on campus. Water bottles, items of clothing, caps, and other, less valuable, lost items are kept in a wicker basket outside Philadelphia Hall. The reception office DOES NOT offer the following services: • Photocopying The office copy machine is for official use only. A photocopy machine for student use is located in the library. Students can purchase a copier access card in the bookstore or in the library. When the library is closed, students may make copies in the bookstore for 10 cents a page. • Stamps for sale: The bookstore sells stamps. • Telephone use: Office telephones are for use by College employees only, except in an emergency. 10
