Office of the Academic Dean Patrick Wakeford-Evans, Academic Dean 916-961-8727 ext. 102 patrick.wakefordevans@steinercollege.edu Office in Stegmann Hall, to the right of the main entrance The academic dean prepares and reviews all program schedules and assists students with questions about changing programs, missing classes, making up classes, and graduation requirements. The dean also oversees the class secretaries, the library, and the computer lab. William Bento, PhD, Associate Academic Dean 916-961-8727 ext. 145 william.bento@steinercollege.edu Office in Norton Library The associate dean assists the dean in all academic affairs, teaches in various programs, and serves as a resource for improving student life on campus. Nancy Walent, Transcripts and Attendance Records 916-961-8727 ext. 124 nancy.walent@steinercollege.edu Office in Alcott House This office assists students with program attendance sheets, class make-up forms, and College transcripts. Office of the Dean of Students Ronald E. Koetzsch, PhD 916-965-1341 ronald.koetzsch@steinercollege.edu Office in building A at 3911 Bannister Road (Located just off campus, the dean’s office is accessed through the gate at the east end of the library parking lot. It is immediately to the left after one has gone through the gate.) The dean of students is responsible for the overall quality of student life outside the classroom. The dean meets with each student at the beginning of the academic year. He plans campus events and student outings. The dean is available at all times to help students with practical, personal, and academic problems and/or to refer them to professionals able to provide assistance. The dean chairs the Festival and Community Life Committee which consists of faculty, students, and staff interested in improving the life of the College community. All members of the community are free to join the committee and/or attend the committee’s meetings. The dean receives and processes all submitted “Suggestions, Requests, and Concerns” forms. These are available at the reception office and provide an opportunity to all members of the community to express issues of concern and to initiate relevant changes. The dean of students also is editor of the College’s internal newsletter News and Clues. New and Clues is published on most Tuesday mornings through the academic year and carries news of the campus and the College community. All members of the community are invited to submit items of interest. Submissions should be no longer than seventy-five words and should be e-mailed to the Dean no later than Monday morning at 9:00 AM to appear in that week’s edition. News and Clues is distributed in hard copy but can also be accessed in digital form on the College’s website. The College is in the process of creating an Alumni Association. The dean of students, working with other staff and with interested alumni, is overseeing that process. 8
