Stores and baggage handling
The most efficient way of handling stores and baggage delivered on pallets or
containers is by the shortest possible path – through the ship’s side. TTS has
developed specialised sideloading systems to meet this requirement.
MARINE
STORES AND BAGGAGE HANDLING
The TTS telescopic ramp that
facilitates stores and baggage
handling has been developed to
serve different tide variations.
The platform acts as part of the
deck when in stowed position
with the shell door closed.
The drawing to the right shows
a typical stores elevator serving
two or more deck levels. The
elevator, usually hydraulically
operated, forms part of the deck
in its stationary position.
Midnatsol, one of the coastal
express vessels in service along
the north coast of Norway.
This TTS installation is a fully
automatic, high capacity system
which moves pallets between
the quay and the decks.
The system can be modified
to enable the handling of
baggage and stores to meet the
requirements of the latest cruise
ships.
