It is my distinct pleasure this morning to introduce you to our esteemed Commencement Guest<br />
Speaker.<br />
I am proud to say that she is one <strong>of</strong> our many successful and influential alumni who are leaving<br />
an indelible mark on the world.<br />
Ms. <strong>Mariette</strong> <strong>Storr</strong> is intimately familiar with life at <strong>The</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>Bahamas</strong> and the<br />
hallmarks <strong>of</strong> our beloved institution. She was once a student here and has an Associate Degree<br />
in Journalism and Mass Communications. She later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing<br />
from Howard University and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.<br />
For the last 16 years, she has worked in the global energy industry, bringing her special brand <strong>of</strong><br />
leadership, energy and vision to the field.<br />
Ms. <strong>Storr</strong> joined Texaco <strong>Bahamas</strong> (now Chevron) in 1994 as a marketing representative and<br />
over the years assumed numerous positions <strong>of</strong> increasing responsibility for the local and<br />
international energy market. She has led the company’s brand and communications strategies<br />
for global aviation and steered policies with implications for government and public affairs in<br />
the Americas, Africa and Asia. She currently holds the position <strong>of</strong> Regional Coordinator <strong>of</strong><br />
Policy, Government and Public Affairs for Latin America.
When she’s not helping to secure Chevron’s position as one <strong>of</strong> the leading integrated energy<br />
companies, you can find her travelling, reading and cooking.<br />
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome now, Ms. <strong>Mariette</strong> <strong>Storr</strong>, a 1985 graduate <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong> <strong>Bahamas</strong>.
