Identification of historical duplicates
• More on this option when setting up SDIs:
“ ELIMINATE PREVIOUSLY SEEN ANSWERS WITH EACH SDI
RUN? Y/(N): Y ”
• Answers are saved for one year on STN
• Identification of these historical duplicates is
based on Accession Number (AN)
• Useful if there is no specific update code
available, e.g., use UP and answer “Y”
TIP: Always use UP/UPM and answer “Y” instead of
using Entry Date (ED) in dynamic-update databases, e.g.,
HCAPLUS, EXCEPT for SMARTracker alerts (more later).
