18 Lynne McDowell potter Lynne’s studio overlooks the beautiful Woori Yallock <strong>Valley</strong> where she finds constant inspiration. Her signature work in white porcelain continues to evolve with patterns inspired by the landscape and expressed as fine black lines inlaid with gold lustre. She also loves making softly thrown tableware glazed with timeless celadon and shino glazes. Lynne has recently been creating pieces for use in the landscape, using different hand-formed techniques. Whimsical plant totems, water catchers, pond floats, fountains, lanterns and majestic ‘Queen Head’ planters can all create a focal point in a garden or terrace. Margaret McLoughlin Mixed-Media Margaret’s creativity expresses itself in a number of ways; oil paintings on canvas, mixed-media, works on paper, printmaking and silk paintings, all of which influence each other and help to maintain freshness and integrity. Her works are primarily expressions of her passion for colour, pattern, texture and strong form and are inspired by the local landscape, natural forms, and the figure. Her compositions aim to suggest a story and are often presented as a complex arrangement of shapes.
