Vocalize Youth Theatre Mondays 6.00-8.00pm (Ages 5-19yrs) 

Sessions start on Monday 10th September with our open audition night for our 

fi rst performance on the Palace Theatre Stage. This show has only just been released for amateur production. 

MISS SAIGON SCHOOL EDITION has been specifi cally adapted to meet the specifi c needs of the educational theatrical market while maintaining the 

essence of the authors’ vision. There have been careful edits to the libretto and score, transposition of some of the vocal parts to ensure that the score 

is better suited to young voices, and the production’s needs have been streamlined.

Vocalize Show Choir would like to welcome new members to join our friendly group. There is no audition required; 

open to anyone aged 17+ who enjoys singing Contemporary arrangements of Rock, Pop & Musical Theatre Songs.

We’ve a Spectacular Autumn Season of Events Lined Up for You 

We invite you to our biggest Autumn Winter season 

to date. This feast of delights is sure to appeal with 

something for everyone to enjoy. Top quality comedy, live 

music, drama and our traditional family pantomime are 

just some of the things that will keep you entertained 

during those dark winter nights. Here are just some of the 

treats you can look forward to. 

Big Names Coming Your Way 

Pop sensations The Real Thing open the season. Their performance 

includes all their top ten hits including , “You To Me Are Everything”, 

“Can’t Get By Without You” and “Feel The Force”, plus a medley of 

classics from the seventies. We are looking forward to welcoming back 

poetess extraordinaire Pam Ayres in October with a brand new show. 

Making his debut on the Palace stage also in October is the incredible 

ventriloquism of Paul Zerdin. The Drifters return by popular demand at 

the beginning of November with their Masquerade Tour performing 

both the classic hits from the last six decades and their superb new 

material. Comedy comes in the form of The Laughterhouse Comedy 

show and Bobby Davro and his Face Hopper Tour in September. Joe 

Brown returns with two shows in November packed with timeless 

classics, rockabilly, gospel, country, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll, all interwoven 

with Joe’s eff ervescent delivery and humorous reminiscences this 

sensational show is a musical journey not to be missed. 

Tribute Acts 

There are top quality tributes to Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Bon 

Jovi, Queen, The Bee Gees and Abba to name but a few 

For Children 

For children this season we have There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed 

a Fly in September. Then in October in the intimate surroundings of 

the room upstairs there is a delightful production called Moon Ladder. 

You are invited to sit around Elisha’s bed as she journeys from her room 

through stormy seas, a fi eld of moon fl owers, lose yourself in a strange 

forest as she tries to put her moon in the right place within the sky. But 

moons are slippery things. December sees the spectacular Christmas 

pantomime Sleeping Beauty come to the stage starring Maureen Nolan 

as Carabosse the wicked fairy. Help save the princess from her wicked 

schemes. 

Local Societies 

Our amateur societies have pulled together a stunning selection 

of musicals for you this season starting off with the Harlequins 

production of the family favourite The Sound of Music in September, 

then in October Alcester Musical Theatre Company present the 70’s 

disco phenomenon Boogie Nights, a chance to dig out your fl ares and 

relive those 70’s moments. Wythall Theatre Company take you on a 

murderous trip in November with Agatha Christie’s best selling story 

And Then There Were None. Can the murderer be discovered before 

all the victims succumb to a bizarre death! Redditch Operatic Society 

follow this up later in the month with Summer Holiday a fun-fi lled 

musical journey from London to Greece in a double-decker bus! Based 

on the iconic 1963 movie starring Sir Cliff Richard, this stage version 

includes all the hit songs including Bachelor Boy, In The Country, The 

Young Ones, Living Doll and the title song Summer Holiday.

Fury’s Tornados and Colin Gold have been 

playing to packed houses in theatres throughout

The show tells the story of Billy Fury’s rise to stardom 

- from his humble beginnings as a dock hand on the

His blend of rock ‘n’ roll and rock ballads chronicles

Wythall Theatre Company present Agatha Christie’s best ever selling thriller 

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE 

The play, adapted by Christie from her best-selling novel tells the story of ten people who are invited 

for a weekend on an island by a Mr U. N. Own. None of the guests know one another and no one 

knows the mysterious host who isn’t on the island when the guests arrive. Before dinner that evening, 

the guests notice 10 soldier boy fi gurines on the dining room table. During the meal, a record plays, 

accusing each of the 10 of murder. Each guest acknowledges awareness of the deaths of the persons 

mentioned, but denies either malice and/or legal culpability. The now very nervous guests realize they 

have been tricked into coming to the island, but fi nd that they cannot leave: the boat which brought 

them has been stranded due to stormy weather. 

What ensues is, at some points gruesome, but always entertaining and puzzling, as one by one the 

individuals are killed according to the macabre words of the children’s nursery rhyme from which the title 

is taken. Who is the murderous culprit? And who’s been stealing the carved Soldier Island fi gurines from 

the table after each death?

Moon ladder is a magical, intimate and 

lyrical journey of self-discovery and 

imagination. An original story inspired by 

a story sang to a little girl at bed time. 

Told through a solo performance of 

visual/dance theatre with original music, 

animation and a huge, silk bedspread. You 

are invited to sit around Elisha’s bed as she 

journeys from her room through stormy 

seas, a fi eld of moon fl owers, and lost in a 

strange forest as she tries to put her moon 

in the right place within the sky. But moons 

are slippery things. 

Moon Ladder is the fi rst work from 

RedDress Theatre with original ideas, 

writing and performance by Michelle 

Pogmore and created in collaboration with 

professional choreographer and theatre 

practitioner Lizie Giraudeau. Original 

Music and animation have been created to 

produce a show that is both atmospheric 

and beautiful for children and their adults.

Malcolm, the Kid from Saltley, for a night of 

comedy and music. In Mind The Horse Road 

he plays his guitar, sings some great songs 

and tells stories and anecdotes about his 

family and the community he lived in when he

creates the seminal horror world of science

three top Midlands blues musicians/ 

vocalists to produce an ‘Eclectic 

Acoustic’ sound that is all their own

The Palace Youth Theatre performs two

productions include Goodnight Mr Tom

Regular workshops take place during 

each term, PYT organises theatre trips

This group will look at set and costume

• Once you have a user name and 

password set up please select Palace 

Theatre from the left hand pane. 

• Select a show from the left hand pane 

that you would like to see. 

• Click onto where it says how many 

seats are left. This will then take you 

onto the seating plan. If the show has 

more than one performance you can 

choose what date you would like to 

see by clicking onto the calendar. This 

is located directly above where it tells 

you how many seats are left. 

• Choose your seats on the seating plan 

by clicking on them and wait for them 

to turn yellow. Seats that have already 

been taken are shown in pink. 

• Once your selected seats have gone 

yellow please press continue. 

• Tick that you are aware of the terms 

and conditions or you can make 

another booking. 

• Enter your address details. Please 

remember to press save. This is 

very important if you want your tickets 

posted out to you. Select delivery 

method either to have the tickets posted 

or to collect them at the box offi ce. 

• Press proceed to secure payment. 

• Enter card details and proceed. 

• Click confi rm purchase. 

• An email confi rmation will be sent to

• All tickets that are purchased less than

ACCESS AND SAFETY 

The Palace Theatre welcomes all visitors,

The best approach to the theatre is 

on Grove Street where there is limited 

disabled parking. 

BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED 

Guide Dogs are admitted into all public 

areas of the building including our 

auditoria. Theatre staff will be more than 

happy to look after guide dogs during 

performance and events. Seats can be 

allocated close to entrances if required.

Alcester Street. Wheelchair positions 

are now located in the stalls and in a 

wheelchair box in the Circle. Please 

see plan above. Accessible unisex and 

ambulant disabled toilets are available on 

all levels of the Palace Theatre.

Can be claimed by all reddicard holders at the rate stated in

Subject to availability you may claim a full price ticket at a 

signifi cantly reduced rate as stated in the brochure. This 

special concessionary rate can only be claimed 3 days 

before the shows opens and is limited to one seat for each 

Concessionary Reddicard held.

Palace Theatre Gift Vouchers 

The perfect present for birthdays, anniversaries, as a 

Christmas gift or just to say thank you. Available from the 

Box Offi ce priced from £1 upwards. They are a great gift for 

all ages and can be used to purchase tickets for any of our 

theatre events. 

Ticket Resale or Exchange 

It is general practice that tickets are not exchanged or money 

refunded. However if patrons fi nd that they are unable to 

use their tickets the Box Offi ce will endeavour to resell them 

(although this can not be guaranteed) they must be returned 

at least three days before the performance. The resale value 

may not total the amount you paid for your tickets originally. 

Tickets are put up for resale at your own risk. There is an 

administration charge for this service of £1.50 which will be 

deducted from the resale value. 

We will also exchange unwanted tickets on your behalf, for the 

same show if there is another date to choose from. Exchanges 

are subject to ticket availability and an administration charge of 

£1.50 per seat will be made to exchange tickets. 

Children 

All children over 12 months of age must have a paid for 

seat. And will only be admitted to specifi ed children’s shows 

and the pantomime. 

Parents with babes in arms under 12 months will only be 

admitted to specifi ed children’s shows and the pantomime 

and must report to the Box Offi ce on arrival so the Front of 

House Manager can issue a pass ticket for the child to be 

admitted to the auditorium. 

We ask that you respect the enjoyment of other patrons and 

in the event of restlessness request that you take the child 

from the auditorium. 

Unaccompanied children attending shows at the Palace 

are not the responsibility of the theatre and parents leave 

children at their own risk. 

Data Protection 

Once you have booked tickets for the Palace Theatre 

your details will be held and processed on our Box 

Offi ce marketing database and from time to time we 

may send you details about the Palace Theatre and its 

programme of events and activities. If you do not want 

your details to be used for this purpose please tell us at 

the time of booking. 

Car Parking 

CAR PARK 2 KINGFISHER CENTRE 

Afternoon Parking Arrangements 

Car Park 2 is situated off Access 2 of the Redditch Ring road 

You can park in Car Park 2 for matinee performances at the Car Park’s current hourly rate. 

It is just a short walk of about 5 minutes from this car park back to the theatre. 

To get back to the Theatre walk across the Town Hall car park and through onto Alcester Street. The theatre will be right in front of you. 

QUADRANT CAR PARK 

Take Access 1 off the Ring road, proceed straight ahead along Red Lion Street until the road curves to the right. Turn left immediately 

after the Queen’s Head Pub into Victoria Street and the Quadrant Car Park is on the left. It is just a short walk back past Shipley’s 

Bingo to the theatre. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS A CHARGE TO PARK HERE TILL 7.00pm. 

TRAFFORD PARK 

(Evenings Only) At the fi rst roundabout on the ringway take the second exit into Other Road, at the top of the hill you will 

come to a mini roundabout, go straight on and turn left into the car park opposite Blockbusters Video Store. Take a short 

walk up Ipsley Street and cross the road at the pelican crossing. Take the underpass under the ringroad and when you 

emerge the Palace Theatre will be right in front of you. 

Parking For Disabled Drivers 

Please use the disabled car parking spaces available opposite the theatre in the Apollo Electrical Centre car park. 

Car Park Warning 

Please do not park your car in Staples/Lidl/Apollo car parks or you could be subject to a fi ne. These are private car parks for the use
