3.2 Potential Hazards<br />

Electric shock upon contact due to high voltage and currents in the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island.<br />
Death or serious injuries.<br />
Complete protection against accidental contact by hand is only ensured when the<br />
following points are followed according to the manual:<br />
• The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island is mounted correctly.<br />
• The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island is properly grounded.<br />
• All connections are made correctly.<br />
• The lid is securely closed.<br />
DANGER!<br />
Electric shock due to high voltage in the stand-alone grid. Death or serious<br />
injuries.<br />
The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island can start on its own.<br />
• Before working on the stand-alone grid, disconnect all sources of AC and DC power.<br />

Death hazard if the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island is used to supply energy to life-sustaining<br />
medical devices.<br />
The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island was not developed to power life-sustaining medical devices.<br />
• Never use the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island in systems in which a power outage might result in<br />
personal injury.<br />

Destruction of the device due to incorrect installation.<br />
The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island's degree of protection is IP30 (IP40 with an inserted SD card) and is<br />
therefore only suited for installation in enclosed spaces.<br />
• Never expose the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island to humidity, rain or direct sunlight.<br />
