The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island <strong>5048</strong> SMA Solar Technology AG<br />

The anti-islanding procedure is required in order to ensure that, in case of a power distribution grid<br />

failure or generator failure, the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island reliably prevents possible reverse voltages in these<br />

power supply units. In case of a power distribution grid failure, <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island disconnects from the grid<br />

and continues supplying the the loads.<br />

The <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island can be integrated into different system constellations. The following graphics show<br />

the <strong>Sun</strong>ny Island's system components and the different wiring options (single-phase / single-phase<br />

parallel and three-phase).<br />
