NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> 50 World Championship<br />

The world’s most promising three-year-old cutting horses compete<br />

over 20 days in the Will Rogers Coliseum for a total purse<br />

of $4 million. The Open Champion’s name will take its place<br />

on the sport’s most coveted trophy and earn a $200,000 pay<br />

day—the richest cutting horse prize of the year.<br />

And, as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, on the night of the<br />

Open Finals, you can bid to be the first spectator to ever watch<br />

an NCHA Triple Crown event from the 6th Judge’s Box. The<br />

lucky bidder also will receive a pair of <strong>Futurity</strong> 50 commemorative<br />

chaps signed by all the living <strong>Futurity</strong> winners. All proceeds<br />

from this auction go to support the NCHA Foundation.<br />

Neiman Marcus <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup,<br />

presented by Jerry Durant Auto Group<br />

In celebration of the 50th NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong>, the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Cutting</strong><br />

<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> will present a unique event that spotlights<br />

the <strong>Futurity</strong>’s history in a crowd-pleasing format. All 32 living<br />

past Open <strong>Futurity</strong> champion riders were invited to take part in<br />

the NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup, to be held in Fort Worth,<br />

Texas.<br />

The Neiman Marcus/NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions Cup, presented<br />

by the Jerry Durant Auto Group, will start at 4:00 p.m.<br />

in Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, <strong>Nov</strong>ember 26.<br />

Red Steagall, the Great American Storyteller, Hall of Fame Rider<br />

Bill Riddle, and Tom Holt, the Voice of <strong>Cutting</strong>, will host the<br />

event.<br />

The past champions will compete in one of three age groups,<br />

with the winner of each division receiving a specially designed<br />

champion’s buckle. All entrants will receive a custom trophy<br />

sculpted by Weatherford, Texas, artist Kelly Graham.<br />

“The 50th NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> gives us a unique opportunity<br />

to honor our past champions in a format that will appeal to<br />

cutting horse fans everywhere,” said NCHA Executive Director<br />

Jeff Hooper. “By bringing together great riders from a span of<br />

five decades with some of the top horses in training today, the<br />

<strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime<br />

experience.”<br />

General admission is $10, with proceeds to benefit the NCHA<br />

Foundation in its mission to preserve the history and protect<br />

the future of cutting. Tickets are available online at nchatickets.<br />

com. Because of the unique nature of this event, admission will<br />

be by ticket only; no buttons or other passes will be honored.<br />

Neiman Marcus will host a <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup party<br />

for all NCHA members at their Ridgmar Mall store on Friday<br />

evening, <strong>Nov</strong>ember 25, with food, beverages, live music and<br />

Christmas shopping opportunities. For 104 years, the Neiman<br />

Marcus name has been synonymous with quality, service, and<br />

the Texas experience.<br />

One lucky fan at Saturdays event (18 years old or older) will<br />

win $15,000 off the purchase price of any new vehicle from<br />

Fort Worth’s cultural district is home to five major museums,<br />

all located blocks from the coliseum. Feed your artsy side by<br />

visiting any or all of these museums, and see what’s in store<br />

when you get there.<br />

Amon Carter Museum<br />

Will Barnet: Relationships, Intimate and Abstract, 1935-1965.<br />

An American pioneering printmaker, painter, and educator,<br />

Will Barnet is known for his works depicting humans and animals<br />

in casual life as well as fantasy worlds. This year would<br />

have marked Barnet’s 100th birthday, and this exhibit features<br />

nearly 50 of his works that show the evolution of his art<br />

from realism to abstraction.<br />

Masterworks of American Photography: Landscape<br />

This exhibit brings together an assortment of the Amon<br />

Carter Museum’s magnificent landscape photographs, from<br />

daguerreotypes to ink-jet prints. Landscape photography has<br />

long been a focal point of American art and of the Amon<br />

Carter Museum.<br />

Feature Photography Exhibition: Work<br />

Photographers throughout history have captured people in<br />

their essence doing their jobs. This modest survey exhibition,<br />

drawn from the museum’s extensive collection, showcases<br />

photographers’ recognition of work from how people are<br />

often defined by their jobs to their documentation of labor’s<br />

troubles and successes.<br />

John Marin: Modernism at Midcentury<br />

John Marin is one of America’s foremost modernists, and he<br />

was one of the first American artists to make abstract paintings.<br />

This special exhibition of more than 50 oil and watercolor<br />

paintings from his 20-year career, from 1933 to 1953,<br />

will be on view at the Amon Carter.<br />

Modern Art Museum<br />

Richard Diebenkorn: The Ocean Park Series<br />

Based on the aerial landscape, the large-scale abstract compositions<br />

of Richard Diebenkorn’s Ocean Park series are the<br />

artist’s most famous work. The Modern Art Museum of Fort<br />

Worth is featuring more than 75 paintings, prints and drawings<br />

spanning two decades.<br />

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History<br />

Alexandre Hogue: An American Visionary, Paintings and Works on Paper<br />

This retrospective display represents a vital link in Texas history,<br />

as Hogue remains the preeminent figure from the 1930s<br />

and 1940s to consistently capture the look, feel, and psychological<br />

character of the Southwest landscape. Fort Worth is<br />

the third and final stop on the exhibition’s limited-engagement<br />

tour.<br />

<strong>National</strong> Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame<br />

The Cowgirl Who Became a Justice - Sandra Day O’Connor:<br />

A 30th Anniversary Celebration<br />

Prior to Sandra Day O’Connor, no other female in the United<br />

States had been given as heavy and as public a yoke to carry<br />

in representing women, the West and, in turn, the best interests<br />

of the nation. The <strong>National</strong> Cowgirl Museum and Hall of<br />

Fame proudly celebrates 2002 Hall of Fame Honoree Sandra<br />

Day O’Connor on the 30th anniversary of her appointment to<br />

the United States Supreme Court.


Kimbell Art Museum<br />

Caravaggio and His Followers in Rome<br />

Not since Michelangelo or Raphael had one artist affected so<br />

many of his contemporaries and so irrevocably changed the<br />

course of European painting. Caravaggio and His Followers in<br />

Rome brings together approximately 60 paintings by Caravaggio<br />

and the artists who were first to respond to his revolutionary<br />

new style. The 400th anniversary of the artist’s death was<br />

celebrated in 2010 with several significant exhibitions in Italy<br />

that reconfirmed his legacy and the remarkable power of his<br />

paintings.<br />

Fort Worth’s Bass Performance Hall<br />

Bass Hall is the crown jewel of Fort Worth, which boasts the<br />

nation’s third largest cultural district. The 2,056-seat hall is<br />

renowned for its superb acoustics, exceptional sight lines and<br />

ambience on level with the great halls of the world. In the<br />

spirit of the holiday, Bass Hall has several seasonal performances<br />

The classic holiday tradition “White Christmas” comes to the<br />

Broadway. “White Christmas” tells the story of two showbiz<br />

buddies putting on a show in a magical Vermont inn and finding<br />

Tom Russell, presented by Performing Arts Fort Worth<br />

Tom Russell, a former cab driver in Queens, N.Y. turned<br />

The Nutcracker, presented by Texas Ballet Theater<br />

From December 1-10 Roy Rogers’ beloved Trigger and Bullet<br />

will be on display in the Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall in<br />

honor of Roy Rogers’ 100th birthday. It’s part of RFD-TV’s<br />

Trigger & Bullet Happy Trails Tour.<br />

Sundance Square is 35 blocks of fun in the heart of downtown<br />

Historic Fort Worth Stockyards<br />

The Fort Worth Stockyards’ <strong>National</strong> Historic District is a<br />

terrific place to celebrate the romance of the American West.<br />

Covering 15 square blocks, the Stockyards are home to hotels,<br />

restaurants, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and some great<br />

western nightlife including Billy Bob’s Texas—the “World’s<br />

and techniques used during the cattle drives of the late 1800’s.

The NCHA has more than a thousand international members<br />

from 25 different countries, and will welcome them with<br />

VIP treatment. The NCHA will bring back the International<br />

Lounge for the 50th <strong>Futurity</strong>, where international guests can<br />

relax and watch the cutting via live feed from the coliseum<br />

in their own private room. The lounge is located next to the<br />

NCHA information booth, and international visitors receive a<br />

welcome bag with NCHA goodies inside.<br />

that features more than 100 highly illuminated entries,<br />

500,000 lights and the brilliant Sundance Square Christmas<br />

<strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup<br />

NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> CHAmpioNs’ Cup briNgs pAst ANd preseNt togetHer<br />

In celebration of the 50th NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong>, the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Cutting</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Association</strong> will present a unique event<br />

that spotlights the <strong>Futurity</strong>’s history in a crowd-pleasing format. All past Open <strong>Futurity</strong> champion riders have been<br />

invited to take part in the NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup, to be held in Fort Worth, Texas.<br />

The Neiman Marcus/NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup,<br />

presented by the Jerry Durant Auto Group, will start at<br />

4:00 p.m. in Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum on Saturday,<br />

<strong>Nov</strong>ember 26. Red Steagall, the Great American Storyteller,<br />

Hall of Fame Rider Bill Riddle, and Tom Holt, the Voice<br />

of <strong>Cutting</strong>, will host the event.<br />

The past champions will compete in one of three age<br />

groups, with the winner of each division receiving a specially<br />

designed champion’s buckle. All entrants will receive<br />

a custom trophy sculpted by Weatherford, Texas, artist Kelly<br />

Graham.<br />

“The 50th NCHA <strong>Futurity</strong> gives us a unique opportunity<br />

to honor our past champions in a format that will appeal to<br />

cutting horse fans everywhere,” said NCHA Executive Director<br />

Jeff Hooper. “By bringing together great riders from a<br />

span of five decades with some of the top horses in training<br />

today, the <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup promises to be a oncein-a-lifetime<br />

experience.”<br />

General admission is $10, with proceeds to benefit the<br />

NCHA Foundation in its mission to preserve the history<br />

and protect the future of cutting. Tickets are available at<br />

nchatickets.com. Because of the unique nature of this event,<br />

admission will be by ticket only; no buttons or other passes<br />

will be honored.<br />

Neiman Marcus will host a <strong>Futurity</strong> Champions’ Cup<br />

party for all NCHA members at their Ridgmar Mall store<br />

on Friday evening, <strong>Nov</strong>ember 25, with food, beverages, live<br />
