BWB signed, a 24.9-million euro contract<br />
for the retrofit fi of 26 CH53 GS/GE helicopters<br />
operated by the German Army. Rüdige g r<br />

OTHER EVENTS<br />
1 THE EC175 was on display for the fi rst time in Europe.<br />
1 Flight demonstrations with THE TIGER were<br />
performed every day at the air show.<br />
1 On June 16 and 17, visitors to the air show were<br />
wowed by fl ight demonstrations performed by the<br />
naval version of THE NH90, the NFH. The helicopter<br />
will be delivered to the French Navy in 2010.<br />

• <strong>Eurocopter</strong> South East Asia delivered<br />
the first fi EC155 B1 to Northern Service Flight<br />
Company (NSFC), based in Hanoi, Vietnam. NFSC<br />
recently signed a contract for an additional EC155 B1<br />
to be delivered in 2010. The helicopter will be used<br />
for search and rescue (SAR) missions.<br />

1 For the fi rst time, EADS and <strong>Eurocopter</strong> presented<br />
the avant-garde technology BLUECOPTER.<br />
A joint effort between EADS and <strong>Eurocopter</strong>,<br />
the Bluecopter technology demonstrator is equipped<br />
with a high-compression engine especially designed<br />
for rotorcraft. It is expected to set new standards in<br />
terms of emissions and fuel effi ciency, accelerating<br />
the progress made toward reaching the objectives<br />
set by ACARE and supplementing the European<br />
Clean Sky program. The Bluecopter technologies<br />
also have potential for other applications, such as for<br />
powering drones and auxiliary power units (APUs).
