Progress on the 1998 NMS
TRACK DOUBLING TO IMPROVE CAPACITY Has now been completed
between Princes Risborough and Bicester North.
AYNHO JUNCTION LINESPEED IMPROVEMENTS Have now been
implemented on the up line.
LINESPEED IMPROVEMENTS SOUTH OF PRINCES RISBOROUGH Analysis
has indicated that the benefits associated with any linespeed increase are not
commercially attractive to the industry. However, consideration is being given to
a localised improvement at Beaconsfield.
SAFETY AND SECURITY We are funding improvements to station safety and
security. Chiltern Railways is well advanced with proposals for a network
CCTV/PA/Help-Point system to be installed this year.
STATION ENHANCEMENTS Various car-park and SRP works are being
developed and undertaken, including the new concourse development at London
Marylebone.
