POSSIBLE RENEWAL OF SIGNALLING AND LINESPEED IMPROVEMENTS
WOLVERHAMPTON–SHREWSBURY A feasibility study has begun with regard to
the linespeed improvements on this section of the route.
POSSIBLE SHREWSBURY AREA RESIGNALLING A feasibility study is to be
undertaken with regard to the renewal of signalling in the Shrewsbury area and
on the Wolverhampton–Shrewsbury section of the route.
POSSIBLE LINESPEED IMPROVEMENTS SHREWSBURY–ABERYSTWYTH A
feasibility study has begun with regard to the linespeed improvements on this
section of the route.
CAMBRIAN COAST TIMBER BRIDGE RENEWALS Cambrian Coast bridge
renewal works have been completed at a number of sites. Extensive repairs to
Barmouth Viaduct are scheduled to commence in 1999.
