steam inlet connection at its lower end and a 4" flanged<br />

discharge connection at its upper end. Each is attached to the<br />

surface condenser by a 4" flanged suction inlet. The centerline<br />

of the suction inlet is 2 •-7 5/8" below the flange of the<br />

discharge connection.<br />

4. Turboblower Number One Condensate Removal Motor/Pump<br />

Assemblies: Two condensate removal motor/pump assemblies, laid<br />

out on an east-west axis, are located on the floor underneath the<br />

surface condenser. The centerline of the northern most assembly<br />

is located 3'-8" from the centerline of the surface condenser.<br />

The centerline of the southern most assembly is located 4'-4"<br />

from the centerline of the surface condenser. Each assembly<br />

consists of a 17 hp steam turbine, manufactured by the Terry<br />

Steam Turbine Company of Hartford, Connecticut, operating at 1450<br />

rpm. The turbine is connected by a gear drive to an Ingersoll -<br />

Rand 24 0 gpm centrifugal pump.<br />

5. Turboblower Number Two: Turboblower number two is located<br />

41 , -5" west of turboblower number one and is laid out parallel to<br />

it. It sits on top of a 18'-9" wide x 40*-9" long x 25 ! -0" high<br />

steel framed platform extending from the south wall of the<br />

building. The manufacturer, capacity, and model of the<br />

turboblower are exactly the same as turboblower number one. See<br />

I-B-l for description.<br />

9. Remains of Turboblower Number Three: The remains of an<br />

Ingersoll - Rand 15,750 hp, 125,000 cfm centrifugal turboblower<br />

rated at 2710 rpm sits on top of a l8 , -9" wide x 41'-0" long x<br />

25 , -o M high concrete and steel framed platform extending from the<br />

south wall of the building. The remains are located 34'-6" west<br />

of turboblower number two. They are laid out on a north-south<br />

axis and consist of the bottom halves of the turbine and blower<br />

casings.
