3. Hack Saws: There are a total of four hack saws in the<br />

building. Manufactured by Marvel Inc., they are located in the<br />

southern end of the building and consist of an entry table, hack<br />

saw station, and a delivery table. Each unit is 86'-6" long.<br />

Installation dates: 1943 and 1962.<br />

4. Abrasive Cut-off Machines: There are two abrasive cut-<br />

off machines in the building. Both machines are laid out on a<br />

north-south axis and are located in the transfer bay. Cut-off<br />

machine No. 1 is located 25' from the western wall and<br />

approximately 10* from the northern wall of the transfer bay.<br />

Cut-off machine No. 2 is parallel to and located 12 f -6 H east of<br />

cut-off machine No.l. Each unit, consisting of a positioning<br />

table and a saw station, is approximately 35' long.<br />

Installation date: 1943.<br />

5. Centerless Grinder: Laid out on a north-south axis, the<br />

centerless grinder is located 78* from the eastern wall of the<br />

production bays and approximately 40' south of the continuous<br />

electric furnace heat treating line. It consists of 2 lifting<br />

tables which flank the grinding station and is approximately 50'<br />

long. Installation date: 1943.<br />

6. Bar Turners: There are two bar turners in the building.<br />

Both are laid out on a north-south axis. Bar Turner No. 1 is<br />

parallel to bar straightener No. 4, and is located 18' west of<br />

it. Bar turner No. 2 is parallel to, and is located 9* west, of<br />

bar turner No.l. Each unit is approximately 85' long.<br />

Installation date: 1943.<br />

7. Brinell Hardness Testers: There are two Brinell hardness<br />

testers in the building. Laid out on a north-south axis, Brinell<br />

hardness tester No. 1 is located approximately 30' south of car<br />

bottom furnaces Nos. 4 and 5. About 35' in length, it consists<br />

of an entry table/test station and a hack saw table/saw station<br />

which extends parallel to each other. Brinell hardness tester<br />

No. 2 is located 10' from the western wall of the production bays<br />

and is parallel to the southern end of the continuous gas fired<br />

heat treating line. Laid out on a north-south axis, it is 90' in<br />

length and consists of an entry table/test station, followed by a<br />

hack saw table/saw station.<br />

Installation dates: 1943 and 1962.<br />

8. Howe Scale: The 25-ton Howe scale is located 27' west of<br />

gag press No. 1. Laid out on a north-south axis, it is 34' long
