information:<br />

4.2.1 Local Fire <strong>Department</strong> Official<br />

United Consulting contacted Ms. Deborah Harris with the Pierce County Emergency Response<br />

on May 27, <strong>2011</strong>, to obtain information regarding records <strong>of</strong> hazardous spills, underground<br />

storage tanks, and fires associated with the Project Site. Ms. Harris stated that she was not aware<br />

<strong>of</strong> any records <strong>of</strong> responses to the property in relation to large fires or chemical spills at the<br />

property; she referred us to Mr. Lenard Roberts with the Pierce County 911 and Fire<br />

<strong>Department</strong>. Mr. Roberts stated that he had worked for the Fire <strong>Department</strong> for 20 years and did<br />

not know <strong>of</strong> any large fires or chemicals spill at or near the Project Site.<br />

4.2.2 State, Local or Regional Health or Environmental Agency<br />

United Consulting contacted Mr. <strong>To</strong>ny Sapp with the Pierce County Health <strong>Department</strong> on May<br />

27, <strong>2011</strong>, requesting information concerning the Project Site. Mr. Sapp stated that he did not<br />

have any records associated with the Project Site. He stated that the property was serviced by<br />

the city sewer.<br />

4.2.3 Local Building Permit Agency Official<br />

On March 30, <strong>2011</strong>, United Consulting visited the Pierce County webpage at<br />

http://www.piercecountyga.org/ to obtain information regarding building permits associated with<br />

the Project Site. United Consulting also e-mailed Mr. Dell Brown with Pierce County<br />

<strong>Community</strong> Development. According to Mr. Brown the Project Site was currently zoned as<br />

Multi Family and the last permit issued was an electrical permit in 2008.<br />

4.2.4 Local Groundwater Use Permit Agency Official<br />

United Consulting contacted Mr. Richard Johnson, representative <strong>of</strong> the Blackshear Water<br />

<strong>Department</strong> on May 2, <strong>2011</strong>, requesting information concerning the permitting <strong>of</strong> groundwater<br />

for use. Mr. Johnson stated that the Blackshear Water <strong>Department</strong> did not issue permits for<br />

groundwater use and was unaware <strong>of</strong> restrictions for groundwater usage.<br />

4.3 Interviews<br />

During and following the site reconnaissance, interviews were conducted with persons familiar<br />

with the Project Site. These persons were questioned as to their knowledge <strong>of</strong> any past activities<br />

at the Project Site that might present the potential for environmental impacts. Documentation <strong>of</strong><br />

the interviews is included as Appendix G. The interviews provided the following information:<br />
