<strong>2013</strong> Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon<br />
allowed on merchandise after permission has been granted by the Overall<br />
Merchandise Chairperson. Please see Section 3.0 for more information.<br />
1.3.4.1. PLEASE NOTE: These rules apply to organization’s social media and<br />
email accounts as well. No organization may use THON’s name in its own<br />
social media or email account. For example, an organization MAY be<br />
organizationx.ftk@gmail.com but they may NOT be<br />
organizationx.thon@gmail.com.<br />
1.3.4.2. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Reddit pages MAY be “Organization X<br />
FTK”, but they may NOT be “Organization X THON” or “Organization X<br />
Benefiting THON”.<br />
1.3.4.2.1. Organization X Benefiting THON IS an appropriate email<br />
signature, an appropriate title of an alternative fundraiser, and an<br />
appropriate description of an organization’s mission.<br />
1.3.4.2.2. All organizations found in violation of this rule will gain three (3)<br />
points. Penalties associated with three points include meeting with<br />
Appropriate Member(s) of the Overall Committee and/or Captain<br />
Committee. A complete list of points and all associated penalties is<br />
available in Appendices D and E.<br />
1.3.4.3. NO organizations may participate in “Twitterthons”, “Like Drives” or<br />
similar types of online fundraising through social media. This applies to any<br />
official organization social media accounts.<br />
1.3.4.3.1. Organizations cannot endorse or publicize other<br />
“Twitterthons”, “Like Drives” or similar type of fundraising.<br />
1.3.4.3.2. All organizations found engaging in “Twitterthons” will gain four (4)<br />
points. Penalties associated with four (4) points include: meeting with<br />
appropriate member(s) of the Overall Committee, loss of Floor Pass(es)<br />
for THON Weekend, loss of Dancer Couple(s) for THON Weekend, loss<br />
of participation in THON, 100% loss of funds raised from given occasion.<br />
1.3.4.4. No organization may use any footage that is used in any THON video for<br />
their video.<br />
1.3.4.5. Please contact the Overall Public Relations Chairperson, Cat Powers<br />
(public.relations@thon.org) with any questions.<br />
1.4. Volunteer Requirements<br />
1.4.1. THON is a student-run event. Therefore, all student volunteers, Chairpersons,<br />
Captains, Committee Members, organization chairs, and dancers must either be full<br />
or part-time undergraduate or graduate Penn State students, students on a<br />
registered Internship/Co-op/Foreign Study assignment recognized by the<br />
Pennsylvania State University within the academic year, August 2012 until May<br />
<strong>2013</strong>, or an alumni member of Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (Dance<br />
Marathon AIG).<br />
