3.3.2. If an organization attempts to submit a design that violates these rules, it will not<br />

be printed.<br />

3.4. SELLING MERCHANDISE<br />

3.4.1. To sell merchandise as an alternative fundraising strategy, groups may only sell<br />

THON merchandise to their own members. Profit from sales must benefit THON,<br />

and the fundraiser must take place during the Fundraising Window.<br />

3.4.1.1. 100% of profit must be donated to THON.<br />

3.4.1.2. The merchandise must be marked up 15% of the cost in order to be<br />

approved.<br />

3.4.2. The yearly THON theme may only be printed on the following products for<br />

Committee Members or organizations ONLY. These products are limited to: t-shirts<br />

(short and long-sleeved), sweatshirts, zip-up sweatshirts, sweatpants, pinnies, and<br />

jerseys.<br />

3.4.2.1. The sale of any THON or THON-related merchandise to the public and<br />

online is PROHIBITED.<br />

3.4.3. Groups may only sell THON merchandise they print through one of the licensed<br />

vendors; the re-sale of merchandise purchased through the THON Store is<br />

PROHIBITED.<br />

3.4.4. Merchandise that does not contain anything related to THON or the Four<br />

Diamonds Fund may be sold to members outside of your organization.<br />

3.5. POSSIBLE PENALTIES FOR MERCHANDISE MISCONDUCT<br />

3.5.1. Penalties for Merchandise Misconduct will be based on a Points System.<br />

3.5.1.1. EXAMPLE: An organization that uses THON’s name, logo, “For The<br />

Kids,” THON 5K logo or theme or Four Diamonds logo in an inappropriate<br />

manner in any form will gain four (4) points. Penalties associated with four (4)<br />

points include: meeting with appropriate member(s) of the Overall Committee,<br />

100% loss of funds raised from given occasion, loss of pass(es), loss of<br />

dancer couple(s). A complete list of points and all associated penalties is<br />

available in Appendices D and E.<br />
