Using licensed companies ensures that the THON trademark and logo are not misused while bringing in funds for THON. Please note that printing any THON logo on apparel is strictly prohibited. Examples of logos include the THON shutter-shade logo, the THON 2013 theme logo, and any previous THON theme logos. 3.2.3.1. Additionally, at NO TIME may the THON logo be altered in any way. Altered logos found on Facebook, Twitter, or any other social media sites must be taken down immediately. Violators of this rule will be contacted by the Public Relations Committee. Contact the Overall Public Relations Chairperson, Cat Powers (public.relations@thon.org), with any questions. 3.2.4. The LAST day to submit an order to our vendors before THON Weekend is FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2013 in order to ensure that vendors have enough time and resources to accommodate your committee or organizational needs. 3.3. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENTS 3.3.1. It is not permissible to use or alter any protected trademark, logo, or icons (i.e. Disney characters). Rulebook Penn State primary mark 2013 Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon 3.3.2. If an organization attempts to submit a design that violates these rules, it will not be printed. 3.4. SELLING MERCHANDISE 3.4.1. To sell merchandise as an alternative fundraising strategy, groups may only sell THON merchandise to their own members. Profit from sales must benefit THON, and the fundraiser must take place during the Fundraising Window. 3.4.1.1. 100% of profit must be donated to THON. 3.4.1.2. The merchandise must be marked up 15% of the cost in order to be approved. 3.4.2. The yearly THON theme may only be printed on the following products for Committee Members or organizations ONLY. These products are limited to: t-shirts (short and long-sleeved), sweatshirts, zip-up sweatshirts, sweatpants, pinnies, and jerseys. 3.4.2.1. The sale of any THON or THON-related merchandise to the public and online is PROHIBITED. 3.4.3. Groups may only sell THON merchandise they print through one of the licensed vendors; the re-sale of merchandise purchased through the THON Store is PROHIBITED. 3.4.4. Merchandise that does not contain anything related to THON or the Four Diamonds Fund may be sold to members outside of your organization. 3.5. POSSIBLE PENALTIES FOR MERCHANDISE MISCONDUCT 3.5.1. Penalties for Merchandise Misconduct will be based on a Points System. 3.5.1.1. EXAMPLE: An organization that uses THON’s name, logo, “For The Kids,” THON 5K logo or theme or Four Diamonds logo in an inappropriate manner in any form will gain four (4) points. Penalties associated with four (4) points include: meeting with appropriate member(s) of the Overall Committee, 100% loss of funds raised from given occasion, loss of pass(es), loss of dancer couple(s).
