<strong>2013</strong> Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon<br />
occasion, 5% deduction of THON <strong>2013</strong> total, loss of pass(es), loss of<br />
dancer couple(s). A complete list of points and all associated penalties<br />
is available in Appendices D and E.<br />
2.2.2.4.5. If a person who is not affiliated with any organization utilizes this<br />
service for anything other than Canister Solicitation, they will be banned<br />
from this service for the remainder of the THON year.<br />
2.2.2.5. Pre-Canning Procedure<br />
2.2.2.5.1. REGISTERING CANNING TRIPS<br />
2.2.2.5.1.1. Every location at which an organization plans on soliciting<br />
for each fundraising weekend must be registered by Friday at<br />
11:59pm of each fundraising weekend. This includes locations that<br />
do not require a permit from the municipality. The appropriate form<br />
can be found on THINK (www.think.psu.edu) through the “Canning<br />
Registration” link. All Trip Leader information must be filled out.<br />
2.2.2.5.1.2. Organizations MUST sign up for a Canning Drop-Off time<br />
on THINK through “Canning Drop-Off Sign Up” link by Friday at<br />
11:59pm of each fundraising weekend.<br />
2.2.2.5.1.2.1. Failure to comply with these rules will result in the gain of<br />
four (4) points. Penalties associated with four (4) points<br />
include: meeting with appropriate member(s) of the Overall<br />
Committee, loss of Floor Pass(es) for THON Weekend, loss of<br />
Dancer Couple(s) for THON Weekend, loss of participation in<br />
THON, loss of funds raised.<br />
2.2.2.5.2. ORGANIZATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO CONTACT LOCAL<br />
MUNICIPALITIES IN THE DESIRED CANNING LOCATION PRIOR TO<br />
SOLICITATION.<br />
2.2.2.5.2.1. Organizations are only permitted to solicit funds in areas<br />
that allow canister solicitation. It is the responsibility of the THON<br />
Chair to ensure that all relevant areas allow canister solicitation.<br />
2.2.2.5.2.2. ORGANIZATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN ANY<br />
PERMITS FOR FUNDRAISING IN COMMUNITIES THAT<br />
REQUIRE THEM.<br />
2.2.2.5.2.3. A detailed list of popular canning locations with phone<br />
numbers is listed on THON.org<br />
2.2.2.5.3. Persons participating in canister solicitation must use official<br />
THON <strong>2013</strong> can wraps and signs, as provided during Materials<br />
Distribution sessions. Once acquired, organizations MUST write their<br />
