<strong>2013</strong> Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon<br />

in canister solicitation. All attendees must bring their Penn State Student<br />

ID card to the workshop session. Attendees are required to watch a<br />

presentation on safe canning procedures, after which they will sign an<br />

online consent form and present their student ID to verify their identity.<br />

2.2.2.3.1.1. Canning Workshops will be held the week before each<br />

Canning Weekend. Details will be announced via the THON Chair<br />

Update emails.<br />

2.2.2.3.2. Any organization or committee who is found to have any<br />

individuals canning without attending a canning workshop session will<br />

gain seven (7) points. Penalties associated with seven (7) points include:<br />

meeting with appropriate member(s) of the Overall Committee, loss of<br />

funds from given occasion, 10% deduction of THON <strong>2013</strong> total, loss of<br />

pass(es), loss of dancer couple(s).<br />

2.2.2.4. Alternative Transportation for Canning<br />

2.2.2.4.1. Buses tickets will be provided in limited quantities to the following<br />

locations: New York City, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh*<br />

2.2.2.4.1.1. There will be no cost to organizations for using these<br />

tickets.<br />

2.2.2.4.1.2. * Buses to Pittsburgh will only be provided during the<br />

second Canning Weekend. This is the only weekend canning is<br />

allowed in the City of Pittsburgh.<br />

2.2.2.4.2. Organization members can reserve a seat on the buses while<br />

seats are available via THINK (www.think.psu.edu).<br />

2.2.2.4.2.1. Once a ticket is reserved, the organization member will be<br />

contacted by Megabus via email to reserve actual time of departure<br />

and return.<br />

2.2.2.4.2.2. Once a ticket is reserved, the member is responsible for<br />

using that ticket. If it is not used, the organization will be fined the<br />

amount of the ticket.<br />

2.2.2.4.3. All policies and procedures of Megabus must be followed by all<br />

participants utilizing the service.<br />

2.2.2.4.4. If any participant is found to be using this service for anything<br />

other than Canister Solicitation, the organization will gain six (6) points.<br />

Penalties associated with six (6) points include: meeting with appropriate<br />

member(s) of the Overall Committee, 100% loss of funds from given<br />
