How To Build A Popsicle Stick Bridge

You'll need 100 popsicle sticks

some white glue

And some clamps

That's It!

Use this much glue on each stick

Make 2 bottom rails that have 5 sticks
on one side and 4 on the other. Put all
the clamps on one side so you can
press it flat against the table.

Make 2 top rails that have 4 sticks on
one side and 3 on the other

Now you need to make some triangles

Make 8 triangles

Now it's time to
start putting the
components
together

Clamp 4 triangles to each long base
strip. Make sure to center them

Now clamp the top rails on

Here's the finished result

It helps to make a jig to hold the side
rails so you can clamp them together

Make sure both rails are parallel when
you clamp the connecting sticks

When the first set of cross sticks are
ready, take the bridge out of the jig and
start adding more sticks and clamps

At this point you will have used about
80 popsicle sticks.

It's up to you to decide how to
use the remaining 20 popsicle
sticks to make your bridge as
strong as possible!

Some construction tips:
- print your name on each component as you go
- use the right amount of glue – not too much or
too little.
- put the clamps in the middle of the popsicle stick
- use as many clamps as you can. The more the
better.
To make your rails straight, press it down against
a flat surface after it is clamped together

But most of all - Remember:
