Class of 1960 50th Anniversary Gift Fund “O worthy men, how well in thee appears The constant service of the antique world, When service sweat for duty, not for meed! Thou art not for the fashion of these times, Where none will sweat but for promotion…” - William Shakespeare, As You Like It, 2.3 James M. Adair Ronald P. Adler Eliseo B. Agor, Jr. Edwin M. Magruder, Jr. The 1960 CRUSADER described the senior class as: “well-armed…modern day Crusaders with the fruits of four years’ education under the able tutelage of the Brothers of Mary.” Well-armed and able indeed, the men of 1960 exceeded all expectations with their record-setting 50-Year Anniversary Gift. It is quite obvious that the honor these young men displayed while they trod upon the slopes of Kalaepohaku has carried over 50 years later to again stamp their mark in history. This year, the class of 1960 upped the ante for all classes to come by providing the school with their 50-year gift of $971,025 – the highest in Saint Louis history. Their effort to exceed such a monumental challenge of providing the largest gift to the school by any 50th Anniversary class, has been an example for our young men that “if you BELIEVE, you can ACHIEVE.” The inspiration behind this lofty accomplishment came from their very own Bob Morgado who challenged his classmates and trustees alike by matching all funds raised. Through the collective effort and generosity of Bob Morgado and his anniversary class, our young men will continue to have opportunities to thrive and compete in an ever-challenging world.
