• Natalie Macke, science teacher at PHHS, has been chosen to participate
in the Toyota International Teacher Program to South Africa. She
was one of 24 chosen out of 1,026 applicants who “demonstrated commitment
to global & environmental education, creativity, & potential
impact on students, teachers, & community members.”

• Danarenae Donato, a junior at PVHS, was chosen to receive the Brandeis Book Award, which is given
to high school juniors in the top 10% of their class who demonstrate a commitment to civic engagement,
community service, political activism, social justice, and/or volunteer work.
• Maura Carey, a junior at PVHS, and Danielle Schimmenti, a junior at PHHS, were each awarded the
Wellesley College Book Award, which is given to a female junior who has an outstanding academic
record & character, & also made significant extracurricular contributions to her high school and/or
community. She is chosen for her intelligence, determination, motivation, achievement, & leadership
qualities.
• Samantha Cheng, a junior at PHHS, and John Ferrara, a junior at PVHS, have been chosen to receive
the Rensselaer Medal, which is awarded to promising secondary school juniors who have distinguished
themselves in mathematics & science.
• Ariel Katz, a senior at PHHS, was chosen as a Junior Commissioner by the Bergen County Commission
on the Status of Women because of her exceptional academic & leadership qualities.
• Sarah Gordon, a junior at PHHS, has been selected to participate in the American Legion Auxiliary
Girls State. Robert Geerlof and Michael Solimano, juniors at PHHS, were selected to participate in
the American Legion Boys State program. This is a unique summertime educational program for high
school juniors that focuses on participation & personal experience in a model state, complete with
government bodies & elected public officials.
• Amanda Eisenberg, Amanda Steiger, & Steven Thorwarth, juniors at PHHS, have been chosen to attend
a week-long leadership conference in June, sponsored by the Park Ridge Rotary Chapter.
• Shawn Meindl, a senior at PVHS, and Michael Riabov, a sophomore at PHHS, have achieved the rank
of Eagle Scout.
• The following students from PHHS won the NJIC Colonial Division Boys Bowling Championship & the
NJSIAA State Sectional Boys Bowling Championship: David Goidel, Bryan Kist, Garett Lindenberg,
Jason Prezant, Michael Riabov, Gregory Russo, Salvatore Saieva, Coach Glenn Priddy.
• Glenn Priddy, PHHS boys bowling team coach, has been chosen as NJ Interscholastic Conference
Colonial Division Coach of the Year.
• The following students from PHHS won the NJ Interscholastic Colonial Division Boys Tennis Conference
Championship: Hunter Anderson, Jake Aronson, Sammy Caspert, Dylan Feinstein, Drew Katz,

• Eric Ganz, PHHS boys tennis team coach, has been chosen as NJ Interscholastic Conference Colonial

• A change of placement for a student from Bergen County Special Special/Transition Center, Woodridge,
NJ, to the Gateway School in Carteret, NJ. Student is also eligible for extended school year services, as

• Home instruction for a student from July 5, 2011 through August 12, 2011 in math, and reading and
writing, per IEP. Teachers from PHHS, Paul Henry will teach math, and Georgine Startz will teach reading
& writing.
• Home instruction in math for a student from June 27, 2011 through July 25, 2011 for a total of 16
hours, to be provided by PVHS math teacher Maria Hinrichsen.
• Bedside instruction for a student through Professional Education Services, Inc., effective May 9,
2011 for approximately four to six weeks.
• Twelve hours of summer supplemental reading instruction for a student, per IEP, from July 5, 2011
through August 12, 2011 for four hours per week, for a total of 12 hours, to be provided by Pascack
Valley Learning Disabilities Teacher/Consultant, Danielle Macaluso.
• Enrollment of the following tuition students to PHHS for the 2011-2012 school year: A student to the
RISE Program from Teaneck Public Schools and a student to the LLD Program from the Westwood
Public Schools.
• The following Applied Behavioral Analysis consultants to provide mandated IEP services to a student

Edge Lawn Service & Landscaping who were materially defective. We will readvertise.
