This violin is a rare specimen <strong>of</strong> this Tyrolean maker, <strong>the</strong>re being ver<br />

few in existence. It is a good copy <strong>of</strong> Stainer, possesses a fine quality o<br />

tone. Owing to <strong>the</strong> scarcity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>se violins, would be very suitable for •<br />

collector.<br />

This is a very delightful Violin, both to look at and to play upon. Its<br />

•outline and arching are beautifully designed. The wood is well chosen and<br />

* graceful. Its tone is what one expects from a well-preserved old Violin <strong>of</strong><br />

good model; full, free, and mellow. Varnish a beautiful brown tint.<br />

and <strong>the</strong> entire instrument is in perfect condition. Its tone is very powerful<br />

and free and <strong>of</strong> exquisite quality and uniformity, its "G" string is quite<br />

much <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Stainer character. This instrument is in very good preservation<br />

and only recently repaired.<br />

<strong>of</strong> Neukirchen, Saxony. It has a well figured two-piece back with sides to<br />

match, <strong>the</strong> spruce top is in harmony with <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> back, work consequently<br />

giving an excellent broad tone, suitable for solo work. The varnish<br />

is <strong>of</strong> good quality, dark brown in color.<br />

This high-grade old violin is an excellent copy <strong>of</strong> Guarnerius, originall]<br />

made <strong>of</strong> old timber and many years <strong>of</strong> playing has given it <strong>the</strong> Cremon;<br />

character <strong>of</strong> tone. The back is iwo-picce, very handsome sides and scrol<br />

to match, <strong>the</strong> grain in <strong>the</strong> top is about medium and stands out very prominent<br />

color a red brown, perfect preservation.<br />

A beaxitifnl specimen <strong>of</strong> this well known maker. He was a pupil o<br />

Joseph Fischer and later worked for Bausch. This violin has a magnifi<br />

cent one-piece back and sides, a line oil varnish and <strong>the</strong> tone is all one ca<br />

expect; a large volume, penetrating and speaks with exceptional ease. Th<br />

color is deep red, shading to a beautiful golden amber.<br />
