A New Chord Instrument with Keys lor Striking*

finest of all the zither
group, not only in makeup
and equipment, but in
musical efficiency. It
consists of a hollow body

made and braced so as to
give greatest resonance
and strength, with least
weight; 42 strings are
strung from steel hitch
pins to blued steel tuning
pins over two bridges;
the scale is two full octaves
in key of C, with
three chord groups C, G
and F. All the treble of
two octaves is double strung, 15 notes with 30 strings.
This double stringing adds 100 per cent, to the power
possessed by any other zither, and besides contributes
infinitely greater strength. The playing is done by striding
keys that work on springs, the rebound from which
throws the striker against the string, giving a beautiful
harp like tone of great power. Regular concert and dance
music can be played as on a piano. The right hand fingers
play the melody just as on a piano, the left hand
fingers playing the accompaniment on similar keys. The
whole mechanism is very simple, easy to get at, and
unhampered by any complex or delicate parts. Equipped
